Introduction to Mujibnagar Complex Museum

Mujibnagar in Meherpur district occupies a very important place in the history of Bangladesh. On April 17, 1971, the first provisional government of Bangladesh was sworn in at Amrakanan in Baidyanathtala village of Mujibnagar upazila. And Mujibnagar Liberation War Memorial Complex (Mujibnagar Complex Museum) has been built at the oath-taking place to convey this history of creation in Mujibnagar, the cradle of Bangladesh's independence .
The 11 sectors of the Liberation War are represented by a large map in the courtyard of the Smriti Complex. There are also commemorative murals of various historical events of the Liberation War, memorials, Liberation War Memorial Complex, historical memorials and rose gardens representing the historical six-point metaphor. The exterior of the Mujibnagar Liberation War Memorial Complex depicts Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's historic 7th March speech, the swearing in of the first Provisional Government and the surrender of Pakistani forces through sculptures. Tourists flock to Meherpur to learn about the history of Bangladesh's freedom struggle and to see this historical place full of memories of the liberation war.

How to go:

To go to Mujibnagar Liberation War Memorial Complex you have to come to Meherpur first. You can go to Meherpur by crossing Bangabandhu Bridge or Padma Bridge. AC/Non-AC buses of SB Paribahan, JR, Shyamoli and RK Paribahan leaving Meherpur via Bangabandhu Bridge leave from Kalyanpur in capital Dhaka.
And buses of JR, Royal, SM, Meherpur Deluxe, Chuadanga Deluxe travel from Gabtali in Dhaka via Padma Bridge. The ticket fare for each seat of these buses varies from Tk 600 to Tk 1300.
It takes 30 minutes to reach Mujibnagar Liberation War Memorial Complex which is located at a distance of 18 km from Meherpur district headquarter by bus, local vehicles (Tempu/Nachiman/Kariman) by road.

A residential hotel of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation is operating at Mujibnagar Liberation War Memorial Complex. Apart from this, Zilla Parishad has several residential hotels including Dak Bungalow, Circuit House, Municipal Hall and Finn Tower.

Where to eat:

Meherpur has several hotels and restaurants for dining. But definitely don't make the mistake of eating ripe mangoes if you go to Meherpur during the mango season. Besides, you can taste the taste of sweets called Savitri in Meherpur city.
