Dc Eco Park Meherpur

Historical Bhatpara Neelkuthi ( Bhatpara Neelkuthi ) is located in Bhatpara of Saharbati Union of Gangni Upazila of Meherpur District . Built in 1859, Bhatpara Nilkuthi is made of bricks, lime-shurki, iron beams and brick tiles. Bhatpara Nilkuthir, a witness to the torture of the British Beniyas, is 80 feet long and 70 feet wide, located on the banks of the Kajala river. Apart from the main building of Kuthibari, the jail, death well and horse stables still remain in dilapidated condition to remind the history of barbarism.

Although the current size of Bhatpara Kuthibari established on about 27 acres of land has decreased, Meherpur district administration established DC Eco Park in 2017 in the remaining area. The DC Ecopark built around the Bhatpara Neelkuthi has artificial lakes, various animal sculptures, fountains, sports equipment and flower gardens.

If you want to go to Bhatpara Neelkuthi house, you have to come to Meherpur first . You can go to Meherpur by crossing Bangabandhu Bridge or Padma Bridge. AC/Non-AC buses of SB Paribahan, JR, Shyamoli and RK Paribahan leave Meherpur from Kalyanpur in capital Dhaka via Bangabandhu Bridge.

And buses of JR, Royal, SM, Meherpur Deluxe, Chuadanga Deluxe travel from Gabtali in Dhaka via Padma Bridge. The ticket fare for each seat of these buses varies from Tk 600 to Tk 1300.

You can easily go to Bhatpara Neelkuthi house which is 17 km away from Meherpur district headquarter by bus, easy bike, Nachiman etc.

Palashipra Samaj Kalyan Samiti of Gangni Upazila has accommodation in the rest house. Apart from that, there are several residential hotels including Dak Bungalow, Circuit House, Municipal Hall and Fin Tower of Zilla Parishad for overnight stay.

Meherpur has several hotels and restaurants for dining. But definitely don't make the mistake of eating ripe mangoes if you go to Meherpur during the mango season. Besides, you can taste the taste of sweets called Savitri in Meherpur city.
