Mandarbaria Sea Beach Satkhira

Mandarbaria Sea Beach is a beautiful beach in the Bay of Bengal located in Satkhira district. The beautiful nature of the Sundarbans on one side and the Mandarbaria beach on the other side of the Hariyabhanga River is intoxicating. Mandarbaria Beach is an unknown place to most people of Bangladesh. The distance of this beach is about 75 km from Nildumur Naughat of Burigoalini in Satkhira district. From Satkhira to Neeldumur by car, the rest of the way has to be done by engine driven boat or speed boat. The rivers flowing through the heart of the Sundarbans are the only source of the 75 km journey. So Mandarbaria Beach, about 8 km long, is suitable only for special travelers who are willing to suffer and listen to the endless roar of the magical waters of the Bay of Bengal.

From Nildumur Ghat, crossing the Kholpetua-Kapotaksha river estuary to reach Mandarbaria, one has to go through the Kalagachia, Arpangashia, Malanch rivers. The evergreen Sundarbans on both sides of the river will enthrall you on the way. Along with this, you will see the movement of various species of animals including deer and the flight of various species of birds including Pankauri, Balihas. Apart from this, the footprints of deer or tiger on the chest of this secluded Mandarbaria beach will undoubtedly increase the excitement of the trip several times.

During the winter season i.e. from October to February, engine-powered boats, speedboats and steamers ply from Nildumur Wharf in Burigoalini to Mandarbaria Beach. So winter is the best time to visit Mandarbaria beach.

Distance from Dhaka to Satkhira is 267 km. There are AC and non-AC buses from Gabtali, Nabinagar, Shyamoli, Kalyanpur and Savar to Satkhira via Padma Bridge in Dhaka. Among them are SP Golden Line, AK Travels, Green Line, Mamun Enterprises, Eagle Transport, Sohag Transport, Saudia Transport, Satkhira Express and Shyamoli Transport. 650 to 1300 taka for all these bus tickets depending on the person.

The distance from Satkhira Sadar to Burigoalini is about 70 km. Engine boats, steamers, speed boats are available from Nildumur Wharf in Burigoalini to Mandarbaria beach. It takes 6 to 7 hours to reach the beach by steamer and engine boats. It takes 2 to 2 and a half hours to go to Mandarbaria by speed boat.

Satkhira has several residential hotels for overnight stay, among them Hotel Sangram, Hotel Samrat, Hotel Shimant, Mozaffar Garden, Hotel Mohana and Hotel Uttara will provide good service.

Satkhira district is famous for kul, mango, ole, fish and pure honey of Sundarbans. Besides, you can try the sandesh of Satkhira Ghosh Dairy, the taste of the sandesh will stay in your mouth for a long time.
