Darshana Chuadanga

Darshana is an important industrial city on the border of Bangladesh and India, 21 km from Chuadanga district. On November 15, 1862, the work of the country's first railway line began in this darshan. International standard Darshana railway station on the border is an important facility in the region. From here Maitri trains travel directly to India.

Keru & Co., the largest sugar mill in Asia, is located in Darshan. The entire complex spread over an area of ​​3,572 acres consists of sugar factory, water distillery, commercial farm and organic fertilizer factory. While the main product of this factory is sugar, the by-products include spirits, hard drinks and organic fertilizers. Keru & Co. is now well-known as a high-quality picnic spot with a two-storey guest house.

Hundreds of citizens of India and Bangladesh import and export various types of goods along with daily travel through the sightseeing spot and railway port. Permanent Infrastructure of Customs Checkpost or Customs Station located near Darshana Zero Point is another notable structure in Darshana. A huge amount of government revenue is collected from these toll stations. Apart from this, the historical Mujibnagar, the first capital of Bangladesh, is only 31 kilometers away from Darshana.

You can go to Chuadanga by bus from Gabtali or Sayedabad bus terminal in capital Dhaka by Shyamoli, Purbasha, Darshana Deluxe, Chuadanga Express or Royal Express. The fare will be Tk 650-1000 depending on the bus. By Rail From Kamalapur Railway Station, Chuadanga can be reached by Chitra, Sundarban Express and Benapole Express trains. The fare of these trains will be Tk 465 to Tk 1,593 depending on the class and standard. There are buses and trains from Chuadanga town to Darshana. On reaching Darshana you can take local transport like Rickshaw/Van to visit various places like Darshana Customs Station, Keru & Co. and Immigration and Customs Checkpost located at Jayanagar.

There are various residential hotels in Chuadanga including Sundial Hotel, Hotel Vacation, Hotel Al-Amin, Hotel Al Meraj, Antraj Residential Hotel, Prince Residential Hotel, Hotel Sonar Bangla and Hotel Surma.

There is no good food hotel or restaurant in Darshan although there is a light tea-breakfast facility. However, there are several good hotels and restaurants along College Road in Chuadanga. If you have a chance you can taste the sweets of Chuadanga Kalipad.

Other attractions in Chuadanga include Meherun Shishu Park, Police Park, Eight Graves and Gholdari Shahi Mosque.
