Thakurpur Jame Mosque (Thakurpur Jame Mosque) is one of the oldest Islamic architectural monuments of Chuadanga district in terms of tradition and aesthetics. Thakurpur Jame Masjid is now well known as Pirganj Jame Masjid located in Thakurpur village on Chuadanga-Jhenaidah road, 2 km from Chuadanga. Although actual information about the construction of the main part of the mosque is not available, according to local elders, Hazrat Afu Shah, a saint from West Bengal, came to Thakurpur in 1698 to spread Islam and set up a Khanka. He built the mosque in one night with the help of jinns. Therefore, many local people call this mosque as Jin's Mosque.
On entering the Thakurpur Jame Masjid, built on an area of about 30 bighas, an entrance arch built in modern architectural style is visible. And behind the mosque is a large pond, rows of coconut trees and a graveyard. People say, every Thursday in this mosque, the jinns pray and the oil or water left by the people is blown. Locals believe that wearing this water or oil helps them solve various problems. The mosque has been renovated at various times keeping the original structure intact and according to a tradition of nearly 300 years, annual Orsha is organized in this mosque premises on the 12th Falgun of Bengali month every year. Many visitors from far and wide come to see this traditional mosque.
