Zainul Abedin Park

Famous painter Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin's paintings are preserved in Nalini Ranjan Sarkar's house in Saheb Quarter located on the banks of the Brahmaputra river that flows through the heart of Mymensingh city. A park has been built with a dam in Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Museum area adjacent to Mymensingh Circuit House. And this park is known as Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Park ( Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Park ).

Zainul Abedin Park has spectacular fountains, swings, trains, magic boats, mini zoo, Baisakhi stage, horse carts, charki, district commissioner's house and several eateries. And there are rows of boats to go around in the river. On the one hand, you can see all the famous pictures of the Zainul Abedin collection and on the other hand, you can spend some time in the enchantment of the green natural environment.

There is no entry fee to enter Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Park. However, to enter the museum, adults have to pay Tk 20 and children Tk 10. The museum is open daily from Saturday to Wednesday from 11 am to 6 pm and on Friday from 3 pm to 8 pm. The weekly closing day of the museum is Thursday.

From Dhaka you can go to Mymensingh by Ena, Alam Asia, Shamim Enterprise, Shoukhin or Safe Transport bus for a fare of Tk 320. It takes two and a half to three hours to travel from Dhaka to Mymensingh.

If you want to travel to Mymensingh by train from Dhaka, you can directly board any of the following trains: Teesta Express (7:30 am), Mohanganj Express (01:15 pm), Jamuna Express (04:45 pm), Brahmaputra (06:15 pm) and Haor Express (10:15 pm). You can go to Mymensingh. Class wise fare is 120 to 501 taka. It will take 3 to 4 hours to go.

Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Park can be easily reached by rickshaw from Mymensingh railway station or bus stop.

If you stay around Dhaka or Mymensingh, you can travel around Mymensingh city including Zainul Abedin Park in a day. So no need to stay overnight. But if you have to stay overnight, the good quality residential hotels in Mymensingh include Hotel Amir International , Hotel Al Hera, Hotel Mostafiz, Silver Castle, River Palace. And among mid-range hotels, you can stay at Hotel Asad, Isha Khan and Nirala.
