Introduction to Zainul Abedin Museum Mymensingh

Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Sangrahashala (Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Sangrahashala) has been built on the banks of Brahmaputra river in the Saheb Quarter area of ​​Mymensingh, the birthplace of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin . On April 15, 1975 Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin inaugurated this museum through the then Vice President Syed Nazrul Islam with his 70 paintings with the help of the district administration. Later in 1987, Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Museum was converted into a two-storied building.
Besides, Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Samrakshala area has been built around the Brahmaputra river by damming Shilpacharya Zainul Udyan. Every morning and evening numerous visitors come to visit Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Museum and Gardens. Currently Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Collection is being managed by Bangladesh National Museum.

Ticket prices and timetables

The entry fee is Tk 10 per person for children up to 12 years of age, Tk 20 per person for general citizens, Tk 300 for citizens of SAARC countries and Tk 500 for foreign nationals of all other countries.
The museum is open daily from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm from Saturday to Wednesday from April to September. And from October to March, Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Museum can be visited from Saturday to Wednesday every day from 10 am to 4.30 pm. Apart from this, every Friday of the week from 3 pm to 8 pm you can enter the sanctum sanctorum. Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Museum is closed for all on every Thursday of the week.

how to go

From Dhaka you can go to Mymensingh by Ena, Alam Asia, Shamim Enterprise, Shoukhin or Safe Transport bus for a fare of Tk 320. It takes two and a half to three hours to travel from Dhaka to Mymensingh.
If you want to travel to Mymensingh by train from Dhaka, you can directly board any of these trains: Teesta Express (7:30 AM), Mohanganj Express (01:15 PM), Jamuna Express (04:45 PM), Brahmaputra (06:15 PM) and Haor Express (10:15 PM). You can go to Mymensingh. Class wise fare is 120 to 501 taka. It will take 3 to 4 hours to go.
You can go to Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Museum by rickshaw, CNG or easy bike from Mymensingh railway station or bus terminal.

If you go to Mymensingh from Dhaka and surrounding districts, there is an opportunity to go back on the same day. But if you want to stay overnight, you can contact Hotel Amir International, Hotel Al Hera, Hotel Mostafiz, Silver Castle, River Palace, Hotel Asad, Isha Khan and Hotel Nirala located in Mymensingh city.
