Introduction to Muktagacha Palace

Muktagachha Zamindar Bari is a traditional ancient structure of Muktagachha Upazila of Mymensingh district. The location of this Muktagacha Rajbari is 17 km from Mymensingh. The then zamindar of Muktagacha got the title of first Raja and later Maharaja from the British. Hence this residence of the zamindar is called Muktagacha Rajbari. 16 zamindars ruled 16 parts of Muktagacha zamindari. There is a huge lion door at the entrance of Muktagacha Zamindar's house. Inside the palace are the zamindar's mother's house, temple, Durbar hall, courthouse, guest house, Sinduk house and other buildings. The palace also had a rare library of about 10,000 books, which was threatened at various times. At present some parts of it are kept in Muktagacha Bangla Academy. Muktagacha Rajbari, built on an area of ​​about 100 acres, is a witness to the unique patterns of ancient architecture. Currently, the palace is under the supervision of Bangladesh Antiquities Department.

Zamindar Acharya Chowdhury's ancestor was a resident of Bogra. In 1725, Muktagacha founded the zamindari in the city. Shri Krishna Acharya received the zamindari of this Vinodbari as a reward from Murshid Kuli Khan. The earlier name of muktagacha was Vinodbari. Shri Krishna Acharya Chowdhury, the first male of the Acharya Chowdhury family, was working in the revenue department at the Darbar of Murshidabad. He arranged for Muktagachha to be included in Alapsingh Pargana in 1132.

how to go

From Dhaka you can go to Mymensingh by Ena, Alam Asia, Shamim Enterprise, Shoukhin or Safe Transport bus for a fare of Tk 320. It takes two and a half to three hours to travel from Dhaka to Mymensingh.
If you want to travel to Mymensingh by train from Dhaka, you can directly board any of these trains: Teesta Express (7:30 AM), Mohanganj Express (01:15 PM), Jamuna Express (04:45 PM), Brahmaputra (06:15 PM) and Haor Express (10:15 PM). You can go to Mymensingh. Class wise fare is 120 to 501 taka. It will take 3 to 4 hours to go.
From Mymensingh you can go to Muktagacha by bus to Tangail for Tk 20-30. CNG reserve or local CNG can also be visited Muktagacha. Local CNG fare is Tk 40-45. To take reserve, you have to spend 200-250 taka. The distance from Mymensingh to Muktagacha is 17 km. It will take 40-50 minutes to go. If you walk down Muktagacha or take a rickshaw and take a short walk through the market, you will reach Muktagacha Zamindar's house.
You can come directly from Dhaka by Islam Paribahan bus to Muktagacha, in this case it will take more time. Besides, you can also go to Muktagacha Rajbari with your own private car.

The reputation of this mandar is very well known to people all over the country. You will find the original and genuine only Mandar shop in Muktagacha. Price per piece is 35 taka, 700 taka per kg.
Besides, if you want to eat heavy food, there is a good quality hotel in Muktagacha Bazar, you can eat it. In addition, if you want to eat in Mymensingh city, you can try the taste of press club canteen chicken pollaw. Apart from this, Hotel Dhansindi and Hotel Sarinda have a good reputation for good quality food.
