Sher Ali Gaji Majar Sherpur

Sher Ali Gaji Majar, known as Gazi Dargah, is located near Gazi Farm, 10 km from Sherpur district town. Sher Ali Ghazi was the last Muslim zamindar of Sherpur pargana in the early eighteenth century. He ruled for 21 years. Sherpur district is named after him. After his death, Sher Ali Ghazi was buried in Giddapara Fakir's house in Khamar. This place is known as the shrine of Sher Ali Ghazi.

Every year 1 Falgun Sher Ali Ghazi Shrine holds an annual Orsha and a bustling village fair is organized in the shrine premises. Thousands of devotees and numerous devotees from different parts of the country irrespective of caste and religion come to the shrine.

Sherpur can be reached by buses like Dreamland, Turag, Sadika, Sherpur Red Line, Sherpur Women Chamber and Anand from Dhaka's Mohakhali. These buses will cost 500-600 taka per person depending on the standard. You can go to the shrine by CNG or autorickshaw from Sherpur.
