Madhutila Eco Park

Madhutila Eco Park is officially located under the Ministry of Environment and Forest at Poragaon in Nalitabari Upazila, 30 km away from Sherpur district . Madhutila Ecopark has 20 acres of medicinal tree afforestation along with ornamental and rare tree afforestation. There are also rest houses, guest houses, various wildlife sculptures or portraits, observation towers, interesting rides, star bridges, canteens, mini zoos, car parking and seating areas. There are 5 native boats and 3 paddle boats to explore Madhutila Lake. Every year people from all over the country come to visit Madhutila for the beauty of the greenery and the hills. Ghazni Vacation Center is very close to Madhutila Ecopark , you can visit from there if you have time.

Madhutila has Mahua Resthouse for day trippers. However, overnight stay is not allowed here and if you want to use the rest house, you have to take permission from the Sherpur DC office.

Entrance ticket to Madhutila Ecopark is Tk 20 per person. The fee to climb the watch tower is 10 taka per person. Ticket price of different rides is 20-40 taka.

From Dhaka you can go directly to Madhutila Ecopark by taking macrobus, private car, minibus or bus reserve. Besides, you can come to Sherpur from Mohakhali bus terminal by various bus services such as Dreamland, Anand, Turag etc. at a fare of Tk 90 to Tk 140. But keep in mind that most of these buses stop at many stops along the route so to avoid hassle you can only travel by Dreamland special bus for 500 to 600 taka AC/Non-AC. AC bus leaves from Mohakhali at 2 pm for Sherpur. From Sherpur you can come directly to Madhutila Ecopark or picnic spot by CNG or pickup van. Again, the CNG fare from Sherpur Shapla Chattar to Nanni Bazar is Tk 60 to Tk 70 per person and the fare from Nanni Bazar to Madhutila Ecopark is Tk 15 per person. Distance from Sherpur to Madhutila Ecopark is only 30 km.

From Sherpur bus stand you have to come to Khwaarpar Shapla Chatwar by auto rickshaw fare of Tk 10 per person. Ghazni-Madhutila going auto/CNG reserve is available at Shapla Chattar. Auto fare to visit Ghazni and Madhutila Ecopark for the whole day is 500 to 700 Tk. Each auto can carry 6/7 people.

Usually you can visit Madhutila Ecopark on the same day from Dhaka. In Sherpur district, there are several medium quality hotels in Sherpur district from 150 to 500 taka, as well as from 300 to 500 taka. There are separate rest houses of Roads and Public Roads, Circuit House, LGED, ATI and Palli Vidyut in Sherpur.
