Rajbari Government High School

The red building of Rajbari Government High School is almost one and a half hundred years old. This ancient historical red building is one of the architectural landmarks of Rajbari district. Girija Shankar Majumdar, zamindar of Banibeh of Banibeh estate in Gowaland subdivision, used the building as a kachari house. In 1892, Zamindar Girija Shankar Majumdar established Goland Model High School in this red building. And Rajbari Government High School (Rajbari Government High School) can be said to be the present form of Goland Model High School which is more than hundred years old.

It is known that this institution was started in 1871 through a minor school and got its full form in 1892. In 1892, Zamindar Girija Shankar Majumdar and Abhay Shankar Majumdar established a school called The Goland English High School. Later the name was changed to Gowaland Model High School, which is now popularly known as Rajbari Government High School. In the course of one and a half hundred years, the red building of Rajbari Government High School became unusable and abandoned. However, currently Bangladesh Archeology Department has taken various initiatives to maintain and preserve this historical red building.

From Dhaka's Gabtali to Rabeya, Hanif Enterprise, Rajbari Transport, Saptavarna, Saudia bus, crossing the Padma Bridge and going to Rajbari costs Tk 500 per person. Apart from this, Rajbari can be reached by Sundarban Express, Madhumati Express and Benapole Express trains from Dhaka Kamalapur Railway Station. Train fare will be 340 to 782 taka per seat.
