Newzeland Para Khagrachari

Pankhaiya Para, located just one and a half kilometers away from Khagrachari district headquarters, and some parts of Perachra look like New Zealand, so the area is known as New Zealand Para (Newzeland Para) to the locals. And the road from Pankhaiya Para to Perachhara village was named New Zealand road.

Khagrachari is a unique landscape full of green fields and hilly plains. And new settlements have been built around the hills. The New Zealand neighborhood is a blend of green hills, distant springs and gurgling rivers, white clouds in the blue sky, and crop fields that bring a piece of New Zealand to the reedy soil.

Khagrachari can be directly reached by AC/Non-AC buses of Shanti, Hanif, S Alam, Shyamoli, Econo and Eagle Paribahan from Dhaka. The fare per person by bus is Tk 750-850 for non AC and Tk 1000 to Tk 1600 for AC. You can reach New Zealand Para by hiring CNG or auto from Khagrachari district headquarters. As it is located near Khagrachari town, Sajek can add New Zealand Para and Hajarchari springs to the itinerary.

BRTC and Shanti Paribahan buses leave Khagrachari from Chittagong's Oxygen Junction. Shanti Paribahan bus leaves every 1-2 hours from 7 am. Besides, several local buses also go to Khagrachari. The fare of these non AC buses is between Tk 180 to Tk 250. It will take 4-5 hours to travel from Chittagong.

Khagrachari town has various quality residential hotels for overnight stay. You can stay overnight at the hotel of your choice by looking at the room and bargaining.
