Narayantala Sunamganj

Narayantala is located on the India-Bangladesh border, 12 km from the city of Sunamganj district. Due to its location at the foothills of the Khasia Hills in the Indian state of Meghalaya, Narayantala offers a breathtaking view of the distant green hills. Apart from natural beauty, Narayantala has historical importance. There are mass graves of 48 brave freedom fighters at Dolura in Narayantala. So the visitors who come here do not make any mistake to pay their respects at the shrine of martyred freedom fighters under Balat sub sector. And if you go to Mugair Par village in Narayantala, you have the opportunity to get acquainted with the lifestyle and culture of the Garo tribals.

Narayantala has various institutions run by Christian Missionaries known as Saint Thomas Church. Apart from this, the beautiful view of the flowing river passing by the Dolura village enthralls the travelers. The sandy desert on the banks of the current river looks like the beach of the sea.

If you want to go to Narayantala, you have to come to Sunamganj district first. You can reach Narayantala Shaheed Minar from Sunamganj traffic point by CNG/TomTom, going down Haluar Ghat and crossing Tolar river by rickshaw or motorcycle.

In Sunamganj city, you can stay at different quality hotels for the rent of Tk 200 to Tk 1000. Notable hotels include Hotel Noor, Hotel Sarpinia, Hotel Noorani, Hotel Mizan, Hotel Palace and Surma Valley Residential Resort.

There is no particularly famous food restaurant in Sunamganj. You can meet your food needs from medium quality food hotels or restaurants. Among them are Panch Bhai, Five Star, Janata, Hotel Raj etc.

Sunamganj district is geographically diverse. Apart from Hasan Raja Museum, popular tourist spots in Sunamganj district include  Tanguar Haor ,  Shaheed Siraj Lake or Niladri Lake ,  Jadukata River ,  Barikka Tila  and  Shimul Bagan .
