Introduction to Jadukata River

Jadukata River or Jadukata River flows along the northeastern border of Bangladesh in Sunamganj district of India. Renuka is the original name of the magical river. There is a legend that the bride of a village on the banks of the river was cutting the fish of this river with her infant son Yadu in her arms. Later, the river got its name from the popular story, Jadukata Nadi. The magical river flows from the Khasia Hills of Meghalaya for about twenty miles and joins the Surma river named 'Rakti'. On one side of the river there are several hills covered with green trees and on the other side the Khasia hills.
The clear water flowing in the magical river, the blue sky and the green hills together create a wonderful canvas. Where nature has arranged every part of the river in its own glory. In addition to this, the activities of local workers can be seen in the magical river. Workers extract stones, coal and sand from the river every day from dawn till dusk.
