Munkona Zamidar Bari Tangail

The traditional Munkona Zamindar Bari located in Nagarpur Upazila is one of the ancient Zamindar Bari of Tangail district. The two-storied Mokna Zamindar house is decorated with various floral and leafy crafts. With the evolution of time, the original beauty and craftsmanship of the zamindar house has disappeared, but this century-old zamindar house still survives as a symbol of the then zamindar of Nagarpur.

In order to go to Mokna Zamindar Bari from Dhaka, you have to come to Tangail town first. Tangail can be reached by bus from Mahakhali or Kalyanpur of Dhaka to Tangail or Dhanbari. From Nagarpur in Tangail district, one can go to Mokna Zamindar's house by crossing the Dhaleswari river in Mamudnagar Union Parishad.

From Dhaka it is possible to visit Mokna Zamindar Bari of Tangail and return to Dhaka in the evening. However, if you need to stay overnight, you can contact Al Faisal, Hotel Prince, Bureau Hotel, Afrin Hotel, Hotel Silicon, Azan Residential, Hotel Paradise Inn, Hotel Sagar located at Mosque Road and Nirala Junction in Tangail.

Nirala Mor in Tangail has several restaurants like Nirala Ghar, Kabirs and New Tripti. Nagarpur market has shops for light snacks. If you get a chance, don't forget to taste Tangail's famous Porabari Chamcham.
