Mostafapur Porbot Garden

In 1930 Ras Bihari Parbat Madaripur Sadar Upazila Mustafapur Union on the banks of the Kumar river planted seedlings of about 500 species of plants and built a garden. The garden built on about 26 acres of land is named Parbat Bagan after him. Kumar River flowing by the side of the mountain garden adds to the charm of the surroundings. As a result, at that time, all the high-ranking officials of Madaripur sub-division used to come freely to Parbat Bagan.

Known as one of the most popular picnic spots in Madaripur district, among the thousands of local and foreign trees in the mountain garden, coconut, betel nut, mango, jam, jackfruit, kamaranga, amra, kul, safeda, olive, amlaki, orange, jamrul etc. are notable. Apart from this, there are rose, jaba, gandharaj, bakul, togar, beli, jui, kamini, hasnahena, etc. unknown flowering plants to beautify the garden. There are 6 beautiful ponds in the mountain garden full of bird calls, two-storied residence of Ras Bihari Pavart with 14 rooms, temple, mausoleum of Ras Bihari Parbat's father Rajkumar Pavart and mother Vidhumukhi Pavart and Suresh Chandra Poddar's zamindar house located near the garden is noteworthy.

Distance from Dhaka to Madaripur by road is 128 km via Padma bridge. Direct buses run from Gabtali and Keraniganj (across Naya Bazar Bridge) to Madaripur in Dhaka. Sarbik Paribahan, Chandra Paribahan and Sohail Paribahan buses leave for Madaripur from Gabtali bus stand. Various buses ply from Syedabad Bus Terminal to Madaripur at regular intervals. Try to book a direct bus ticket, the ticket price is Tk 450 to Tk 500 per person (variable). It takes about 3 hours to reach Madaripur by bus.

Parvat Bagan is located on the south bank of Kumar River in Mustafapur Union of Madaripur Sadar Upazila. Mountain Garden can be reached by taking the road to the left before the Mustafapur (Mastapur) big bridge.
