Mokarram Ali Shah Dargah Magura

Hazrat Pir Mokarram Ali Shah (R) Dargah is situated in Ishakhada village of Magura district. The dargah is located on the banks of the Navaganga River, near the Dhaka-Khulna highway, just 7 km west of Magura town. On the banks of the river in the shade of green trees is the tomb of the spiritual saint Hazrat Pir Mukarram Ali Shah (RA). It is known that around 1400 AD, the famous preacher Khan Jahan Ali (r.a.) arrived at Barbazar in Jessore with 12 disciples. Then Khan Jahan Ali (RA) went to Bagerhat.

Hazrat Pir Mukarram Ali Shah (RA), one of the disciples of Hazrat Khan Jahan Ali (RA), came to Ishakhada village from Barbazar to preach Islam. Legend has it that Sadhak Pir Hazrat Mukarram Ali Shah (RA) possessed special miraculous powers. He built a mosque and dug two ponds in the village of Ishakhada. The ruins of that historic mosque are still visible today.

Currently renovation work is done to enhance the beauty of the shrine by excavating two historic ponds and a madrasa is being conducted here up to class VIII. Every year 3 Magh dargahs are held at the sacred Isale Sawab. Apart from this, Mukarram Ali Shah (R:) Dargah, a unique symbol of Magura's tradition, welcomes devotees throughout the year.

Hazrat Pir Mukarram Ali Shah (R:) Dargah is located on the bank of Navaganga river in Ichakhada village on the Magura-Jhenaidah highway, 6 km from Magura district town. From the capital Dhaka, you can go to Magura via Padma Setu by taking AC, non-AC buses of Sohag, Hanif, Harti, Eagle Transport for 580 to 1300 taka. Apart from this, you can reach Mukarram Ali Shah (RA) Dargah by local transport like rickshaw, van, bus from any part of the country.

The residential hotel system in Magura is not that good. Among them Hotel Chalantika and Chaya Bithi are notable. Besides, one can stay in Zilla Parishad Dak Bungalow and Magura Circuit House subject to permission.
