Sreepur Zamindar Bari Magura

Sreepur Zamindar Bari (Sreepur Zamindar Bari) is the historical architectural monument of Pal Raja's royal palace just 1 km away from Sreepur upazila headquarters of Magura district. Sardaranjan Pal Chowdhury established zamindari in Sreepur and surrounding areas. According to history, Sardaranjan Pal Chowdhury bought this zamindari from Nawab Alivardi Khan in the 1500s.

It is said that before the construction of Sreepur Zamindar House, Udayaditya, son of Maharaja Pratapaditya of Jessore, one of the twelve Bhuias of Bengal, was married to Bibha Rani Pal Chowdhury, daughter of Zamindar Sardaranjan Pal Chowdhury, and King Pratapaditya cooperated in various ways in the construction of Sreepur Zamindar House.

Poet Guru Rabindranath Tagore wrote the novel 'Bouthakurani's Hat' about Bibha Rani Pal Chowdhury, daughter of landlord Sardaranjan Pal Chowdhury. The sight of Sreepur Zamindar's house The ruins of the grand palace and the Sinhdwara of the house keep the visitors mesmerized by the hope of seeing Sreepur Zamindar's house.

From Dhaka, you can go to Magura district via Padma Setu by taking AC, non-AC buses of Sohag, Hanif, Harti, Eagle Transport for a fare of Tk 580 to Tk 1300. The distance from Magura district headquarters to Sreepur upazila is 15 km. Buses to Sreepur are available from Magura. Get down from Sreepur bus stand and take local transport like rickshaw or easy bike to reach Sreepur Zamindar house located on the left side of Sreepur-Sachilapur road.

The residential hotel system in Magura is not that good. You can choose Hotel Chalantika or Chhaya Bithi for overnight stay. Apart from this, you can stay in Dak Bungalow and Magura Circuit House of Zilla Parishad subject to permission.
