Introduction to Kabi Kazi Qadir Nawaz House

Qazi Quader Nawaz was an eminent poet, educationist and literary lover. Although he excelled in almost all branches of literature, he had a special interest in poetry. Despite the influence of the Rabindra school of thought, the individuality of the poet's work was noticeable. Love, nature, country, the call to truth and beauty was the value of his poetry. At that time, many of the poet's writings were published in various newspapers and magazines. Currently, the poem 'The Dignity of the Teacher' is taught in the fifth grade in Bangladesh.
Poet Kazi Quader Nawaz's notable works include: Moral (1936), Dadur Sahit (1947), Neel Kumudi (1960), Manideep, Ustader Kadar, Ma, Prayaschatta, Chaddighi, Lost Hat, Kale Hawa, Maruchandrika, Two Birds Two Stars ( 1966), Utala Sandhya etc. He has been awarded various awards for his unique contribution to Bengali literature. Among which the President's Medal, Bangla Academy Award (1963) and Mother Bakhsh Award etc. are mentioned.

Short biography of poet Qazi Quader Nawaz

Born on January 15, 1909 in his maternal uncle's house at Talebpur, Murshidabad. He passed his entrance in 1923 from Mathrun High School in Burdwan, due to the ancestral residence of poet Kazi Quader Nawaz in Mangalkot village of Burdwan district, West Bengal. He then obtained BA and MA degrees with honors in English from Baharam College and Calcutta University respectively. Joined the post of Sub-Inspector of Schools in 1932 and later appointed as Assistant Headmaster in 1946.
After the partition of the country in 1947, poet Kazi Quader Nawaz first served as the headmaster of Nawabpur Government High School and later Dinajpur District School in Dhaka. After his retirement in 1966, he settled permanently in Mujdia village of Sripur upazila of Magura district. During the liberation war in 1971, the poet supported the freedom fighters in various ways. The varied life of poet Kazi Quader Nawaz came to an end on January 3, 1983.
