Introduction to Moinot Ghat Dhaka

Moinot Ghat Dhaka of Doha Upazila is called Mini Cox's Bazar. A straight road from Dhaka's Nawabganj meets Doha's Mainot Ghat. Doha is on one bank of Padma and Faridpur on the other bank. From Mainot Ghat, people go to Gopalpur in Faridpur via the banks of the Padma. On the eastern side of the ghat, the huge char reminds people of the sea bed and the vast Padma in front becomes the ocean. And if you want, you can take a boat to the Padma river from here or walk along the banks as you wish.

what will you see

Due to its proximity to Dhaka and being able to go back in a day, Mainot Ghat is becoming popular among travel freaks. Can travel on Padma by speed boat. An average sized trawler can be rented for Rs 300 to 500 per hour. If you want, you can float in the water of Padma and there is a wonderful sunset in the evening.

Ways to go to Mainot Ghat

Many buses to Doha pass in front of Gulistan Golap Shah Shrine in Dhaka but not all buses go to Mainot Ghat in Doha. Maint Ghat in Doha can be reached only by Yamuna Deluxe Transport Bus. So before boarding the bus to be sure, know whether the bus will go to Mainot Ghat or not. The fare from Gulistan to Mainot Ghat is 90 taka. It takes just two hours to reach Minot Ghat. The last bus from Mainot Ghat to Dhaka leaves at 6 pm. So wherever you are, if you want to come by bus, reach the bus before 6 o'clock.
Or if you want to come by N Mallik transport from in front of Gulistan Golap Shah Mazar, you have to get down at a place called Mazhirkanda in Nawabganj. The rent will be 70 rupees. After that, you have to take an auto from Majhirkanda for a fare of 15 taka and come to Banshtala in Doha. Auto fare from Banshtala to Kartikpur will be Tk 15. Kartikpur Bazar going to Mainot Ghat will cost 10 taka for auto and 20 taka for rickshaw.
On the way, you can stop at Lakshmiprasad place and see Poddarbari. Besides, you have to get down at the place called Kalakopa before Majhirkanda to visit the places of interest such as Jojbari, Ukilbari, Kokilparry Dalan, Andhar Kotha etc.
CNG to Mainot Ghat is available from there at Basila three road junction by Mohammadpur bus stand. It takes about 1000 rupees to go only with CNG reserve. If you bargain you can get CNG for less, and one CNG can seat 4 people.

where will you stay

No hotel, resort or boarding has yet been built around the Minot ghat for accommodation. And since it is near Dhaka, it is better to go and return by day from Mainot Ghat.

what to eat

There are two food hotels near the Minot ghat. These are basically rice hotels so you can have rice with Padma fish here in the afternoon. If you want to eat hilsa, you can get small size hilsa for 60 to 90 taka. Also there is no good provision like food. You can try instant papar vaja. And you will get puff.
Of course, don't miss the famous sweets of Ranjit and Niranjan Sweet Shop in Kartikpur. Check out the sweet deals in Kartikpur. Normal rasgolla 150 taka per kg. Chicken rasgolla from Tk 180 to Tk 200 per kg. Chamcham and black jam 160 taka per kg. Balusha 140 taka per kg. Gelapi 100 taka per kg. Rasmalai 300 taka per kg. Curd 140 taka per kg.
