Introduction to Lotkon Narsingdi

Sweet and sour Lotkon (Lotkon) is a favorite fruit of more or less everyone. Narsingdi district has a national reputation for latkon . Shibpur and Morjal upazilas of Narsingdi have the largest number of latcon plantations in Bangladesh. Numerous small and large latkon gardens are noticed on both sides of the road in Chhotabanda village of Shibpur upazila. Starting from the base of the garden trees, thousands of ripe pendants hang across the branches and sub-branches. However, before entering any garden, the permission of the owner must be taken. Most of the garden owners are very sincere and show visitors their gardens with interest. So by talking to the owner of the garden, you can eat the latkon from the tree with your own hands.
Besides, almost all the surrounding villages including Uari Bateswar, Raipur, Jessore, Agarpur, Makalla, Vitikheinkoot, Dakshin Kamalpur, Naukaghata, Lalkhartek, Bhangartek have more or less latkon gardens in Narsingdi. Just ask the locals and they will show you the latkon gardens near the city. And there are stalls selling latkons on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Morjal Bazar in Raipura, Sristigarh Bazar, Kamartek Bazar in Shivpur, Chaitanya Bazar and Gabtali Bazar. If you want, you can buy latkon by bargaining while visiting the latkon market. A tour of Latkon Bagan offers a different experience for the travel enthusiast.
