Introduction to Hum Hum Waterfall

In late 2010, a group of tourists along with tourist guide Shyamal Debbarma discovered this invincible waterfall of Ham Ham deep in the Rajkandi reserved forest area of ​​Kamalganj Upazila of Moulvibazar district. This spring is known as Chita Jharna to the locals, according to them, leopards used to be found in this forest. People from all over Bangladesh rush to see the wild beauty of this spring, which is about 140 feet high. In winter, the water level is relatively low, so monsoon is the perfect time to see the wild beauty of Ham Ham.

how to go

If you want to go to Hum Hum from Dhaka, it is most convenient to go via Srimangal. From Kamalapur or Biman Bandar railway station, one can first reach Srimangal by taking Paravat, Jayantika or Upaban Express train. Class wise fare is Tk 240-828. It takes 6 and a half to 8 hours to go to Srimangal by train.
And to go from Dhaka to Srimangal by bus, Hanif Enterprise, Shyamoli Paribahan, Sylhet Express, Ena etc AC and non AC buses are available from Fakirapool or Syedabad for a fare of Tk 570 to Tk 800. It takes four to five hours to go to Srimangal by bus.

It is better to leave Srimangal early in the morning for Hamham. First you need to go to Kalabon Para. From Srimangal to Kalabon Para up down CNG fare will cost around 1000-1200 taka, you can go 3-5 in one car. Besides, there are jeeps to go. Fix a good guide within 200/300 taka to reach Kalabon para. Don't make the mistake of taking a bamboo stick for each of your traveling companions, and be sure to keep leeches in mind. There are two trails from Kalaban Para to Hamham, Jhiri Path and Pahari Path. Although the Jhiri route takes a bit more time, the beauty of this route is much more than the hilly route. However, there are many leeches on the Jhiri road during monsoon. It will take 2-3 hours to reach Hamham from Kalabon Para. However, if you are not used to walking on hilly roads, the time may take a little longer.

There is no accommodation around the Hum Hum fountain. So it is better to leave early in the morning and come back in the day. But if you can adapt yourself by talking to the tribals, then you can live in Tailangbari or Kalabon. what to eat

You can eat some food in Kalabon Para to satisfy your hunger. Nowadays tea, chickpeas are available at the foot of Hum Hum Jharna, which will be able to quench your temporary hunger. You can also take dry food with you. There is a small hotel run by local people in Kalabon Para. If you order on the go, you can eat it when you come back. Apart from this, Srimangal can have a full meal when he returns to the city, where there are good quality restaurants.
