Hazarikhil Wildlife Sanctuary Chittagong

Located 62 km north of Chittagong city in the midst of Ramgarh-Sitakunda forest, Fatikchari Hazarikhil Wildlife Sanctuary, spread over an area of ​​about 3,000 acres, continues to beautify nature. The forest area was declared a wildlife sanctuary on 5 August 2014 due to its habitat for rare species of trees and animals.

Hazarikhil sanctuary has about 25 species of mammals, 123 species of birds, 8 species of amphibians, 25 species of reptiles and 250 species of almost extinct plants. Notable wildlife and birds include monkey, Hanuman, Maya deer, Mechho tiger, almost extinct forest goat, Hudhud bird, Neel Kant, Beghabou, Ababil, Cow Dhanesh etc.

In addition to camping in the calm and quiet environment of Hazarikhil Sanctuary, there is an opportunity to participate in various tree activities in the tea garden. Entry fee for Wildlife Tree Activities is Tk 100 (per person). Besides, if you want to see the magical form of nature, enter the wonderful Hazarikhil trail of the tea garden. The 7-8 km long Hazarikhil trail of exquisite beauty passing through gorges and cascades ends at Kalapani Jharna.

If you want to go to Hazarikhil sanctuary, you have to come to Chittagong first. You can reach Hazarikhil Sanctuary at a distance of 13 km by CNG from Chittagong to Fatikchari.

Dhaka to Chittagong: From Dhaka Sayedabad Bus Terminal Saudia, Unique, TR Travels, Green Line, Hanif Enterprise, Shyamoli, Sohag, S. AC-Non AC buses of various transports like Alam, Modern Line etc leave for Chittagong. Bus fare is Tk 650 to Tk 2000 per seat.

From Dhaka's Kamalapur railway station, tourists can also travel to Chittagong by Tourist Express, Cox's Bazar Express, Sonar Bangla, Suborn Express, Turna-Nishitha, Mahanagar Prabhati/Godhuli, Chittagong mail trains. Train fare will be Tk 405-1398 per seat. Besides, several airlines operate direct flights to Chittagong from Dhaka.
