Introduction to Chagolkanda Waterfalls Chittagong

Chagolkanda Waterfalls is one of the unknown waterfalls of Kamaldah Trail in Sitakunda Upazila of Chittagong District. On the extraordinary Kamaldah Jharna Trail, you will see the beauty of Chagalkanda Jharna along with 4 other small and big waterfalls located upstream. If you proceed along the highway from Bara Darogar Hat towards Dhaka, you will first see a brickyard. Pass the brickyard and proceed along the first dirt road on the right. After walking along the dirt road for some distance, you will find the Jhiripath, after walking along the Jhiri path for about 200 minutes, you will reach Kamaldah Jharna. Kamaldah Jharna is basically a cascade. The water of this 3 step fountain is flowing down. Only 1 step of the fountain can be seen from below.
To see Chagalkanda Jharna one has to climb up the slippery path of Kamaldah Jharna hill. After walking for about half an hour, you will see that the road splits like an English letter Y and goes in two directions. After going a little further along the road on the left side, you will come across the road again. This time also proceed along the road on the left hand side. After walking for some time you will reach Chagalkanda, the 2nd spring of Kamaldah trail.
