Gholdari Shahi Mosque

During the reign of Mohammad Ghori, a religious dervish named Omar Shah built the Gholdari Shahi Mosque in Gholdari village of Alamdanga upazila in 1006. Regular prayers are still offered in this historic mosque. Every day many tourists visit Gholdari Shahi Mosque to witness the tradition and offer prayers.

From Chuadanga district city you have to come to Alamdanga upazila by bus or train and from there ride a rickshaw or van to Gholdari market. And the distance from Gholdari Bazar to Gholdari Shahi Mosque is only 1 km.

The distance of Chuadanga from the capital Dhaka is 250 km. Chuadanga district is accessible by bus and train from Dhaka.

From Gabtali and Syedabad Bus Terminals, Manbede bus to Chuadanga District costs Tk 650-1000 per person. Notable bus services include – Tourist Transport ( 01719-813004 ), Sky Line, Pabna Express ( 02-9008581 ) and Chuadanga Express.

On the way from Dhaka to Chuadanga by bus, one can see Savar Memorial and Cantonment, Jahangirnagar University, Manikganj , Faridpur and several places of interest in Magura district.

From Kamalapur railway station, Chitra, Sundarban Express and Benapole Express trains cross Yamuna Bridge and travel towards Chuadanga. There is no accommodation near the Gholdari Jame Masjid, so one has to go and return to a convenient place on the same day. In that case, you can spend the night in several standard residential hotels located in Chuadanga. You can stay in these hotels for 100 to 500 taka per night.
