Introduction to Floating Bridge Jessore

A floating bridge of about 1300 feet length has been constructed on Jhampa Baor of Jessore's Manirampur. As a result of the construction of this floating bridge, the suffering of the residents of Jhampa village of Manirampur upazila, which is surrounded by Kapotaksh river and Jhampa river, ended to some extent. But a few days ago people had to travel around 10 kilometers without a boat. An organization named 'Jhampa Village Development Foundation' was formed here to eliminate the traffic problem.
The members of Jhapa Village Development Foundation built the 1300 feet long and 9 feet wide floating bridge in about three months with the help of volunteers and money provided by the villagers. Currently, small vehicles like motorcycles, vans can travel through this floating bridge.
Safety railings have been provided on both sides of the bridge, which is made of steel sheets on about 839 blue colored floating drums. A different kind of thrill is created in the mind while traveling on this floating bridge, a product of youthful exuberance. Many curious people from far and wide are coming to Jhampa village to see the first and longest floating bridge in Bangladesh. A picnic spot has been built here to sustain the new potential of tourism built around the floating bridge. Purbapar Mosque and Eidgah Committee has arranged for car parking for visitors. If you want to ride on the floating bridge, you have to buy a ticket with 5 taka.
