Budhapara Kalimata Mondir

About 530 years old Budhapara Kalimandir (Budhapara Sree Sree Kalimata Mondir) is located in Budhapara of Lalpur upazila of Natore district. At the time of the construction of the temple, the Nawabi period was going on in this subcontinent. And during the reign of Nawab Alivardi Khan, the class riots started. 60 Ghar Kansa traders from Khagra, Baharampur, Murshidabad district, India, came and settled in Budhpara, Natore, to escape the unjust persecution of Barghis. At that time they built a thatched temple for Kali Puja worship. Which is now known as Budhpara Kalimandir. As a result, this temple has historical importance for Hindus spread all over the country.

Bengali In 1332, the thatched temple was converted into a concrete building. If there is more than 150 bighas of land in the name of the temple in Tati, at present only the Kali temple and Govinda temple premises together have a total of 8 bighas of land. Apart from various Puja Parbans, Hindus from different parts of the country visit Budhpara Kalimandi throughout the year. Every year in the month of Kartik, Kali Puja is held in Mahadhumdham in this temple. And the fair organized on the occasion of Puja is attended by visitors of all ages irrespective of professions and religions.

By bus plying on Ishwardi-Bagha route from the capital Dhaka, get off at Bagha and from there take CNG to Lalpur. The fare of these buses will be Tk 600-700 depending on the bus. Besides, from Dhaka, take a bus bound for Rajshahi, Natore or Chapainawabganj and get off at Banpara Bypass Junction and from there, you can easily reach Budhpara Kalimandir by taking a local bus or CNG. Budhpara Kalimandir is about 20 kilometers from Banpara junction.
