Introduction to Chalanbil Museum Natore

On September 1, 1978, Chalanbil Museum was temporarily established in Khubjeepur village of Garudaspur police station as a result of the efforts of some conscious social workers of Chalanbil region. This museum, built with various historical artifacts of Chalanbil, came under the purview of the Directorate of Archeology on July 2, 1989. Among the notable archaeological artifacts in the Chalanbil Museum are Vishnu and Matrika idols, various research books, hard stone Sun Gods, postage stamps, coins of 90 countries, pots, rocks and terracotta of different regimes.
In addition, there are two Koran Sharifs written by King Alamgir and Emperor Nasiruddin, 8 complete and 7 partial Koran Sharifs written on flat paper about 400 years old, 15 Hadith Sharifs and 257 different religious books.

Schedule of Chalanbil Museum

Chalanbil Museum is open to all in summer from 10 am to 6 pm and in winter from 9 am to 5 pm. The museum is closed every Sunday and opens from 2 pm on Mondays. And every day from 1 pm to 1.30 pm there is a temporary break in the museum.

how to go

From Dhaka you can take a bus to Nato bus stand and from there you can hire an auto rickshaw to go directly to Chalanbil Museum.
Dhaka to Natore by Bus: Dhaka to Natore bus services include Green Line, Hanif, Desh, Shyamli and National Paribahan etc. These buses leave for Natore regularly from Kalyanpur and Gabtali bus terminals in Dhaka. Ticket price per person for Non-AC is Tk 590 and AC Tk 800 to Tk 1300 depending on the bus standard.
Dhaka to Natore by Train: Dhaka to Nilsagar Express, Burimari Express, Rangpur Express, Ekta Express, Chilahati Express, Hurtjan Express, Kurigram Express, Lalmoni Express and Panchagarh Express trains stop at Natore Railway Station. So knowing the time you can easily go to Nator by these trains. The train ticket fare per person is Tk 375 for Sobhan Chair, Tk 719 for Snigdha, Tk 863 for AC and Tk 1288 for AC berth.

Natore has good quality residential hotels and boarding. You can stay overnight at Hotel VIP and Hotel Rukhsana in single and double cabins for 300-600 taka.

Where to eat in Natore

Natore has a variety of fine dining hotels and restaurants. You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner at any restaurant of your choice. Chalanbil and Rani Bhavani are famous all over Bangladesh for their delicious fish and Natore's famous kachagolla. So it is not right to miss the opportunity to eat fish and kachagolla during your trip to Nato.
