Introduction to Tokyo City Japan

Tokyo, Japan's busiest capital city, has many modern buildings along with ancient architectural monuments. The city of Tokyo, which is divided into about 47 different urban areas, was formerly known as Edo. Today, Tokyo's popularity for shopping, entertainment, culture and diverse cuisine is worldwide. Besides, Tokyo is at the top of the bucket list of tourists due to the city's excellent museums, historical temples, gardens and aesthetic architecture.

Sights of Tokyo

There are many places to visit throughout the city of Tokyo. There are opportunities to see various ancient and modern structures as well as enjoy the beaches of Izu and Ogasawara Islands.

Tokyo Skytree (Tokyo Skytree)

The Tokyo Sky Tree is a broadcasting and observation tower located in Sumida, Japan. This tower with a height of 634 meters was recognized as the tallest self-contained tower in the world in March 2011. From here, the view of Asakusa area and Sumida River Bank is most beautiful. The tower has two observation decks for tourists at a height of 350 and 450 meters.
The 350m high observation deck is known as “Tembo Deck” and is spread over three levels. The spacious windows on the upper level offer a 360-degree panoramic view of the city. On the middle floor there is a souvenir shop, and on the lowest floor there is a cafe and glass panels from which you can see all the streets below the tower. Located at a height of 450 meters, the “Tembo Gallery” is basically a curved staircase that increases in height as it turns. The observation deck on the top floor of this deck offers a more beautiful view of the city of Tokyo. Tokyo Sky Tree is open daily from 8am to 10am. Can be explored well within 1 hour. Entry fee for adults to visit Tembo Deck and Tembo Gallery is 3,000 to 3,500 yen. However, there are special discounts for international tourists with valid visas. Apart from this, there is an aquarium and a planet theater in this tower.

Senso-Ji

Asakusa, Tokyo is home to the ancient Buddhist temple Senjo Ji, which is one of the most popular temples in Tokyo. The temple is a walking distance from Asakusa Station. Established in the 7th century, the temple has two main gates, a pagoda and a hall. Upon entering here, the “Kaminarimon Gate” will come into view from which to enter the Senjo-ji Gate. This gate is decorated with different types of red lanterns. This place is a special attraction for tourists to take pictures. After passing through the first gate, you can enter the main hall of Senjo-ji Temple, which is originally known as “Nagamise Street”. About 250 meters wide, this shopping street offers many traditional Japanese items. Before the main hall there is another big gate known as “Hoyomon Gate”. A little away from the gate is the 5-story pagoda which is always crowded with tourists and various worshippers. Although the temple is open 24 hours a day, the main hall of the temple is open from 6 am to 5 pm. But tourists can visit here at any time of morning or night. The main hall and Nakamise Street shops are closed at night. And after sunset, the light here is on till 11 pm. Many people come here for photography and private sightseeing as the crowd is less at night. Various Japanese festivals are organized in this temple throughout the year.

Tokyo Tower

With a height of 333 meters, this tower is the second tallest tower in Tokyo. The Eiffel Tower is structurally similar to the Tokyo Tower, built as a symbol of Japan's renaissance as an economic power after World War II. The tower's 150m high main deck offers some spectacular views of the city. There are some “look down windows”, souvenir shops and cafes to stop by.
Tokyo Tower's third-highest observation deck at 250 meters offers panoramic views of the surrounding buildings. A tour of the observation deck called the “Top Deck” offers complimentary drinks and some special stills of the tower. At the very bottom of Tokyo Tower is the “Foot Town Building” where there are numerous souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants. The special attraction here is the “One Piece Show” of the indoor amusement park named “One Piece Tower”. Tokyo Tower, which is open from 9am to 11pm, costs 900 yen for one deck and 2800 yen for two decks. And the entrance fee to One Piece Tower, which is open from 10 am to 10 pm, is 3200 yen.

Meiji Jingu

Located in Shibuya, Tokyo, this temple is dedicated to Emperor Meiji and his wife. Many people are seen writing their wishes on a wooden board hanging from an obscure tree in a tree-filled temple, which is basically done out of a kind of faith. But for that, you have to spend 500 yen to buy a wooden board and a good luck pouch. Best time to visit here is from 8 am to 2 pm. Before entering the temple, one has to wash hands and face with water and perform some religious rituals. A strange magical atmosphere is created when the loot is lit around at night.

Imperial Palace

The Imperial Palace is the main residence of the Emperor of Japan located near Tokyo Station. Built with a large park-like area, the palace houses private residences, archives, museums and administrative buildings. The most iconic view is from the gate bridge on the east side of the Palace. Passport must be brought along in case of entry here.

Tokyo National Museum

Established in 1872, this museum is the oldest museum in Japan. Various aspects of culture and tradition of Japan and Asia 40 years ago have been highlighted here. Various ancient artifacts are exhibited in different buildings. Entry fee to the museum is 620 yen per person.

Obaida

Obaida Recreation Center located on the artificial beach of Tokyo Bay is one of the tourist attractions. The beach's Seaside Park offers a magnificent view of Mt.Fuji. And there will be an opportunity to see robots at the Miraican Science Museum.

Mount Mitake

An ideal place for hiking just outside of Tokyo city is Mount Mitake. Apart from enjoying the beautiful scenery, you can see the mountains, rock gardens, temples and attractive fountains here. It will be better if you take the time for the whole day.

Edo Tokyo Museum

Various histories of the city of Tokyo during the Edo period are preserved at the Edo Tokyo Museum. But nowadays special emphasis is given on juggling and paper cutting or origami. The entry fee to this museum is 600 yen per person.

Izu Island

Izu Island is one of the volcanic islands of Japan. Volcanoes and mountains can be seen here along with scuba diving.
You can also visit Rikuji-En, Shinjuku Gyoen National Park, Ropponji Hills, Ghibli Museum, Harajuku, Ropponj, Tokyo DisneySea. Tokyo Disneysea), Ueno Park, Tokyo Disney Resort, Mount Takao, Rainbow Bridge, Sumida Park & ​​Aquarium, Omotesando, Places like Mori Art Museum, Tokyo Midtown, Showa Memorial Park and Edo Castle.

How to get to Tokyo

From Dhaka you can go to Tokyo via transit on Cathay Dragon, Thai Lion Airlines, Singapore Airlines or China Southern flights. It takes 8 hours to 16 hours to fly from Dhaka to Tokyo depending on the airlines.

Mount Mita also has some good restaurants for breakfast and lunch.

There are over 300 stores to shop at under the Tokyo Sky Tree. From souvenirs to designer collections can be found here. There are several shopping malls in Obaidah, Aqua City and Venus Fort are particularly notable. Again you will find many local things in Senjo-ji.
