Introduction to Ramu Rubber Garden

The traditional Ramu Rubber Garden has been built in Ramu Upazila, 18 km away from Cox's Bazar district city, combining hills and plains. In 1960-61, rubber cultivation was started in Ramu with the help of Bangladesh Forestry Development Corporation through uncultivated land research. Spread over 2,682 acres of hills, hills and vast plains, the Ramu Rubber Gardens are surrounded by a breathtaking beauty.
Initially there were 58,000 productive rubber trees in the plantation, but today there are about 1,40,000 trees. A rubber tree can produce rubber pulp for up to 25 years and at 32-33 years of age the trees lose economic productivity. About two and a half lakh kg of rubber is produced annually from these trees in the rubber plantation.
Today this garden is known as one of the tourist spots in the country. Every day many tourists from home and abroad visit Ramu Bagan to see the rubber plantation and rubber production process. The open environment of Ramu Rubber Gardens has become quite popular as a picnic spot.
