Otter Fishing In Narail Bangladesh

Golbari village of Kalora union of Narail district headquarter is especially famous for fishing in Bangladesh. Even though this traditional method of fishing by nets has disappeared across the country, about 2627 families of Goalbari village are still fishing in this ancient method. Bhodar is an animal strongly addicted to fish. Local fishermen catch fish by exploiting this behavior of the vhodar. In this method, before going fishing, the carp is fed with fish, then the net tied to the boat is thrown into the river and the carp is released. Bhodar in his natural behavior chases the fish away for food, and the fish get caught in the fishermen's nets. After the hunt, a part of the fish caught by the fishermen is reserved for the vultures. Because of this, the loyalty of the vultures and fishermen is maintained. Fishermen in the Narail region therefore reared the vulture like any other domestic animal.

Narail district can be reached by bus from Dhaka via Padma bridge. From Dhaka's Gabtali, Sayedabad, Nabinagar and Mohakhali bus terminals to Narail by Desh Travels, Saint Martin Paribahan, Tungipara Express, Sohag Paribahan, Eagle Paribahan, Hanif Enterprise and AK Travels, the fare will be Tk 550-1200 per person. You can take a rickshaw from Rupganj Bazar in Narail to Goalbari to see the fishing in the tri estuary of Chitra and Afra rivers.

There are several residential hotels and modern quality resorts in Narail district and Jessore-Narail road. Dolphin, Samrat, Mordan, Arunima Resort and Chitra Resort etc. are notable among them.
