If you are only thinking about Mithamin Haor, then first you have to come to Kishoreganj District Headquarters. You can travel to Kishoreganj from Dhaka by bus or train. Egarsindur Prabhati (Closed on Wednesdays) departs from Dhaka at 7.15 a.m. daily for Kishoreganj. The 3-4 hour train journey will cost 135-368 taka depending on the class. If you want to come by bus, you can take Ananya Transport and Ananya Super Bus from Mahakhali Bus Stand, and if you want to come from Sayedabad, you can take Ananya Super and Commuter Bus directly to Kishoreganj Sadar. Bus fare from Tk 270 to Tk 350.
From Kishoreganj railway station or bus station by rickshaw/easy bike to Ekrampur bus/CNG stand, then by local CNG/auto or reserve vehicle to Balikhla Ghat . During the rainy season, you can rent a small engine boat from there for an hour or a whole day to explore the surroundings of Mithamin Haor. Engine boat hire is between Tk 200-500 per hour. If you want to take the reserve for going and coming, the fare depends on the size of the boat, season and holidays. Usually small boats are 800-1500 taka, medium boats are 1200-2500 taka, big boats are up to 1500-5000 taka. Prices depend on holidays and season. If the tourist pressure is high, the price will be much higher. So you have to bargain.
It takes about an hour and 30 minutes to go to Mithamin by engine boat from Balikhla Ghat. Besides, there is a local boat service from Balikhla Ghat to Mitamine at a fare of 70-80 per person. If you want, you can take the motorbike to the boat. In that case separate fare has to be paid for the motorbike.
And during the dry season when there is no water in Howar, you can cross the river by ferry from Balikhla Ghat and go directly to Mithamin by submersible road.
