Introduction to Mir Mosharraf Hossain Memorial Museum

Mir Mosharraf Hossain Bastubita is located in Lahinipara village of Kushtia . Mir Musharraf Hossain was born on 13 November 1847. His father Mir Moazzem Hossain Katrik, a zamindar, was educated in Arabic and Persian by a munsi employed in his home. After that he completed his education at Kushtia School, Krishnanagar Collegiate School, Kalighat School in Kolkata.
Mir Musharraf took over the management of his father's zamindari at the start of Hose's career. After that he started working, once he left his job and moved to Calcutta in search of fortune. The total number of books of Mir Musharraf Hossain, the pioneer of Bengali Muslim literature in the nineteenth century, is about 37. He has written various timeless prose, poems, essays, dramas and novels one by one in pure Bengali. At that time he got the status of the best dramatist for the play 'Zamidar Darpan'.
Lahinipara currently houses a primary school, a secondary school, a library, museum and auditorium surrounding the birthplace of the poet. Every day many local and foreign tourists come to the residence of Mir Musharraf Hossain.

how to go

From anywhere in Kushtia district city, you can ride a rickshaw or an easy bike to Mir Musharraf Hossain's Bastuvita located at Lahinipara Mor next to Syed Masud Rumi Setu toll gate.
Kushtia can be reached by bus and train from Dhaka. The bus fare of New SB Super Deluxe, Shyamoli, Hanif, etc. operating from Kalyanpur in the capital is Tk 600-700 for non-AC, Tk 1000-1200 for AC.
If you want to go by train, you can go by Sundarban Express, Madhumati Express and Benapole Express trains. Sundarban Express leaves at 8:15 AM, Madhumati Express at 3 PM and Benapole Express at 11:45 PM from Kamalapur Railway Station. The price of the ticket is Tk 410 to Tk 943 depending on the seat of the train. By train you have to get down at Kushtia Court station. Any rickshaw or auto from Kushtia city will take you to Mir Musharraf Hussain's residence.

You can stay overnight at a fairly standard residential hotel in Kushtia city. Some of the better quality hotels include Hotel River View and Hotel Noor International. Besides, there are several mid-range hotels in Mazampur and NS Road.

where to eat

You can eat at Hotel Shafi in Kushtia Court Station area. Besides, good quality food is available in Jahangir Hotel, Shilpi Hotel, Khawa-Dawa Hotel. And Kushtia's famous sesame khwaja and kulfi malai must be tried.
