Male Maldives

Full of natural beauty , Maldives is a country of numerous islands. Male Island, the capital of Maldives, is one of about 1,200 small islands. About 1.5 km long and 1 km wide, this island is one of the most populous cities in the world. And tourists are especially attracted to this island. Again, this Male Island is a perfect place for honeymoon couples.

There are 2-3 direct flights from Dhaka to Maldives to reach Maldives. However, Bangladeshis travel more on Maldivian Air and Sri Lankan Air Lines. From Dhaka International Airport, you can directly go to Malé International Airport (Velana International Airport) in Maldives. After completing the immigration, you can take a taxi to Male at a distance of 4 kilometers from the airport. Or if you want, you can go to Male Island by ferry or speedboat from in front of the airport. If you want again, you can go to Malé International Airport in Maldives by another flight after completing the transit session from Bandaranayake International Airport in Sri Lanka. It takes 1 hour to fly from Sri Lanka to Maldives. In this case, the cost is less and two countries are visited simultaneously.

There are several resorts to stay in Male city. Good service can be found in Somerset Inn, The Mellors, Hotel Jane Male, Hotel Octave etc. You will get good rooms with WiFi and AC in these hotels. And among the resorts you can stay at Kurumba Maldives, Holiday Island Resort, Paradise Island Resort, Sun Island & Spa, Bandos Island.

Food costs in Maldives are a little higher. Air travel from Dhaka to Maldives will cost Tk 43,000-60,000. Airfare will depend on how far in advance you book your ticket. And if you are in the city, two people can stay for 3,000-7,000 rupees per night, while staying at a resort near the island will cost 16,000-28,000 rupees per person. And if you eat normal food, it will be between 400-500 taka per hour. And if you want to rent a speed boat through the package, it will cost 15,000-17,000 taka. All in all, if you stay in Male for 3 nights and 2 days including air travel from Bangladesh, it will cost 90,000-1,00,000 Tk. If you want to travel at a low cost, take the flight ticket as early as possible. Try to stay at a local resort or guest house. And use government ferries for transportation.

A small island full of coconut, betel nut and other trees. And this Male Island is always crowded with tourists. In this island you will find the touch of urbanization in the middle of the sea. The sweet breeze coming from the blue sea invigorates the body and the mind, here in fact all the fatigue of traveling disappears in an instant. The real beauty of Maldives can be seen from the infinity pool of almost all the resorts here and you can easily indulge in various water sports. And if you know how to swim, don't forget to enjoy swimming at the beach. On the east side of Male Island, you can take a ferry to Varunulaa Raalhugandu to see the amazing sunset. Male Island is a perfect place for surfing and snorkeling, so you will have fun surfing here.

Do not come here without eating mas hooni (a type of dish made of tuna fish, coconut, onion and lemon which is eaten with roshi) and various cold drinks, and if you want to eat Bengali food, go to the Bengali restaurant called Dhaka Food in Male city. You can get cheap Bengali food here. But eating at the underwater restaurant will be a different experience. Apart from Malé Island, there are some other places to visit in Malé city. For example, Artificial Beach (Artificial Beach), Old Friday Moscow (Old Friday Mosque), National Museum (National Museum), Sultan's Park, National Art Gallery, Chinese Maldives Friendship Bridge, Fish Market and Grand Friday Moscow.

Besides, you can visit various resort islands located nearby from Male. You can stay there even if you want to go there. However, the cost of resort islands is very high. If there is a day trip option, you can visit in the form of a package. If you want to visit resort islands at low cost, you can visit local resort islands.
