Introduction to Lake View Island Kaptai

In 2017, under the supervision of the Bangladesh Army, a tourist center called Lake View Island was built in Kaptai Lake of Rangamati district. Lake View Island has Nilakudi Bajra, scenic cottages, hilltop swimming pool, adventure park and fishing facilities.

A 50-feet-long luxury barge called Nilakaudi is built for sightseeing and overnight stays in Kaptai Lake. 'Hilltop Resort' has been built on the dune near Kaptai Lake . Kids Corners for children are named Yellow Zone and Orange Zone. Machanghar or tree house is built on the tree. And there are suspension bridges to go from one Machang to another Machang.

Lake View Island is open to visitors throughout the day from 6 am to 6 pm and requires an entry fee of Rs 150 to enter. The rent of picnic spot for 50 people on any day except public holidays is 10 thousand taka and 15 thousand taka on public holidays and 5000 taka to rent sound system.

A day's rent for a wooden Neelkauri Bajra is Tk 10,000. Non-AC and AC rooms at Lake View Resort are priced at Tk 2,000 and Tk 4,000. And if you want to stay in hill top resort, you have to spend 3200 rupees for AC room. There is also an overnight stay in tents at Lake View Island. 1000 rupees for one day tent for two people.

how to go

Distance from Chittagong to Kaptai is 58 km. It takes about two to two and a half hours to reach Kaptai JT Ghat by bus from Bahaddarhat Bus Terminal in Chittagong city. If you want, you can also go by CNG autorickshaw, own transport, microbus or bus plying on Kaptai route.

Dhaka to Chittagong Chittagong can be reached from Dhaka by road, rail and air. From Dhaka's Syedabad Bus Terminal, buses of Saudia, Green Line, Unique, TR Travels, Hanif, Shyamoli, Sohag, S Alam etc. leave for Chittagong. The bus fares range from Tk 560 to Tk 2300 per seat depending on the class.

If you want to travel to Chittagong by train from Dhaka, you can travel by Tourist Express, Cox's Bazar Express , Sonar Bangla, Suborn Express, Turna-Nishitha, Mahanagar Prabhati/Godhuli, Chittagong Mail from Kamalapur or Airport Railway Station. Besides, several airlines operate direct flights to Chittagong from Dhaka.
