Introduction to Kumira Ghat Sitakunda

The traditional union of Sitakunda Upazila is called Kumira. Here is the most famous Kumira-Sandip Ferry Ghat or Kumira Ghat for going to Sandeep from Chittagong . Recently, a one kilometer long jetty has been constructed for the convenience of the ferry passengers, which is known by the local people as Kumira-Sandwip Ferry Ghat Bridge, Ghatghar Bridge and Kumira Bridge etc.

what you see

Running inland from the shore, the jetty at Drishtanandan will give the illusion of being in the middle of the sea once you reach the western end of the bridge. If the sky is clear, the high mountains of Sitakunda can be clearly seen from here. The experience of standing on the sea and looking at the mountains is amazing in one word. From Kumira Bridge, you can't miss the sight of huge ships. Here you can see the evening fishing of fishermen returning to the wharf, the arrival-departure of passengers, the activity of the fishing village and the sheep yard workers.
If you want to go deeper into the ocean or see the huge ships up close, you can hire a boat. Since they are used for fishing, boats are not always available. However, on closed days, the pressure of visitors is high, so sufficient boats are kept at the wharf. To board these boats, the fare is 15 to 20 taka per person.
Besides, you can cross the Sandwip Channel in 30 minutes by speedboat rental for 250-300 taka per person from Kumira Ghat and go to Sandwip. 200-250 Tk reserve CNG can be taken from Sandwip Ghat to the main town of Sandwip. If you love adventure, crossing this channel by speedboat will be etched in your mind for a long time.
