The entire city of Kashmir is like a paradise state, the horizon is a play of white snow between pairs of tall mountains. There are many places to visit inside the state. And another beauty is waiting a little outside the city. Still some notable places are mentioned below for the convenience of tourists:
Srinagar: In Srinagar, the first thing you will see is the white snowflakes on the top of the hill. There are Mughal Gardens, Tulip Gardens, Hazrat Bal Mosque, Dal Lake and Nagin Lake. It would be nice to see the city of Srinagar for the whole day by renting a car. The floating city of Ardal Lake is also worth a visit.
Gulmarg : Just 52 km from Srinagar, Gulmarg is a sprawling green grass which is covered with snow throughout the year. Here you can see Gondola, Golf Course, Baba Rishi Shrine, Afarwat Peak, St. Mary's Church. Apart from the cable car, you can also enjoy paragliding in Gulmarg.
Pehelgam : 97 km from Srinagar you can go by taxi to Pehelgam. If you go between July and October, you will see the apple orchard on the other side of the road. There is so much to see. If you take some time to travel around, you can see everything like Lidar River, Betab Valley, Chanderwari, Aru Valley, Dhabian, Kashmir Valley Point, Kanimarg. Horseback riding will be fun at Pagelham View Point. Don't forget to visit Baisaran, known as the mini Switzerland here.

Also there are some places in Kashmir which are a little far from the city, maybe unknown to many, but worth a visit. For example - Martanda Mandir is a Hindu temple built in a different architecture 64 km away from Srinagar. A famous song from the movie Haider was shot here. Kokernag, a small town, has fishing facilities. Chhatpal has a collection of nut and apple orchards. You can also visit places like Nubra Upatakya and Dudhpatri.

When will you go to Kashmir?

Kashmir is a favorite place for travelers anytime. But at some special times, the beauty of Kashmir is especially caught in everyone's eyes.
Bangladesh's summer is from April to May of the English year, which is said to be the best time to visit Kashmir. During this time the surroundings are full of flowers, especially tulips.
As autumn in Bangladesh, there is less snow during the period of September to October. However, various types of fruits are available at this time. Especially apples and Chinese almonds will be seen this time.
And as for winter, from December to February, all around Kashmir is snow and ice, with snowfall. And so, if you go to Kashmir this time, you will see a strange and beautiful scene around. However, extra caution is required when traveling in winter.

How to go to Kashmir

You can go to Kashmir by plane, train or bus. In case of going by air, from Dhaka you have to go to Delhi first, then from there to Srinagar. Then you will reach Kashmir by car from Srinagar.
Again, in case of going by train, first you have to go from Dhaka to Kolkata. There is Maitri Express to go to Kolkata. You have to get down to Kolkata by train and then travel 35-36 hours from there to 'Jumbu'. There are two trains from Kolkata to Jambo called “Himgiri” and “Jambo Tawai”. Three days a week (Tuesday, Friday and Saturday) the Himgiri train departs from Kolkata's Howrah for Jambu at 11.50 pm. And Tawai travels daily from Howrah to Jumbu, but it takes more time. In that case it is better to go to Himgiri if there is no hurry. Then after 8-10 hours journey from Jambo to Srinagar. Drive from Srinagar to the dream city of Kashmir.
In case of bus also, first you have to go to Jammu from Kolkata by Greenline, Sohag or Shyamli Paribahan and from there reach Srinagar by car and go to Kashmir. If desired, you can also take a “Domestic Biman” from Kolkata to Jumbu or Srinagar. But in that case the fare will be a little higher.

Kashmir travel expenses

By train from Kolkata to Jumbu, the non-AC sleeper fare is Tk 2200-2500 and the AC sleeper fare is Tk 3300-3500. However, if you go to Kashmir with a group of 6-8 people, the cost is a little less. In that case the fare per person from Jambu to Srinagar will be Rs 600-800.
Air fare from Kolkata to Srinagar is 12-20 thousand.
Going by bus will cost 1800-2000 taka per person, to go from Dhaka to Kolkata. But there is another way to reduce the cost if you can cross the border to Kashmir. Cross the border and take a local bus to Calcutta from there to Jammu, Srinagar and then Kashmir.
But all in all, if the cost of accommodation and travel can be reduced a little, then you can visit Kashmir within 30-32 thousand and you can do shopping a little better.

where will you stay

There are several hotels to stay in Kashmir. The rent will be between 1000-1500 rupees. Srinagar and Jamboo also have several hotels, resorts and houseboats for accommodation. Among them Hotel Jamrud, Hotel Jahangir, Grand Hotel are notable. The room rents between 1200-2500 rupees for two persons.
But if you want to stay in a good tourist area, there are several houseboats near Dal Lake in Srinagar. Such as Prince of Vale, Young Morning Star, New Zealand House Boat. But in that case the cost will be almost double than other hotels. Again, the cost will be less if the cottages in Pehelgam are marketed themselves.
But in this case, instead of booking online, it is better to go to Kashmir and book a hotel in the city you want to stay.

where to eat

Ojwan (a platter of various dishes), kashmiri kebab, mutton rogan josh, mutton, paneer chaman, alur dum, sour brinjal, nadru yakhni are famous here. Here you will find all things Kashmiri. But check the price when buying pashmina shawl of Kashmir. Because the price of good pashmina is the lowest at 3000 rupees. So many people can give fake and bad things because of low price. You can buy women's jewellery, bags, coin boxes and showpieces from Pehelgam.
