However, although this dessert is called Kachagolla, it does not look raw or round at all. Milk chutney and sugar are the main ingredients for making Kachagolla.

History of Natore Kachagolla

The history of this dessert, which is incomparable in taste and smell, is almost two and a half years old. It is believed that Kachagolla became popular after 1757. During the reign of Queen Bhavani in 1760, the fame of Kachagolla spread across the country and abroad. At that time the kachagolla of Natore was used to sweeten the faces of the zamindars. Even the royal families of far away countries and India used to take Kachagolla. Rajshahi Gazette and various newspapers of Kolkata used to print various features about Natore's Kachagolla. The taste of Kachagolla beats the taste of Rasgolla, Pantoa and even Sandesh.
Legend has it that during Rani Bhavni's reign, a sweet seller named Madhusudan Pal of Lalbazar in Natore regularly supplied sweets to the queen. And to make sweets, chickpeas were prepared the night before. One day, Madhusudan was worried about the one and a half to two manna channa made the previous night as the sweet maker did not come to the shop. To protect the chicks from spoilage, he poured sugar juice into the raw chicks and set them on fire. Later, this sugar-mixed chicken tasted the wonderful taste. Fearfully took this new sweet for the queen. The queen was also overwhelmed by the taste of the sweet and began to bless. After much thought, this new sweet was named Kachagolla.
