Jess Garden Park Jessore

Jess Garden Park is located in a beautiful and quiet environment near Bahadurpur High School at a distance of only 3 km from Jessore district city. In 1992, the late A. S. M. Habibul Haque Chuni established the park on about 12 acres of land.

For entertainment, Jess Garden Park has children's playground, children's park, seesaw, chair cart, horse cart, mini train, paddle boat, prayer area, canteen and toilets with modern facilities. Sculptures of crocodiles and bucks have been created in the lotus-blossom ponds located in the park to delight the visiting visitors. In addition, there are giant horse, elephant, tiger, lion, kangaroo, ape toys scattered in different parts of the park.

The cool and shady Jess Garden Park Mini Zoo houses a variety of birds including tigers, deer, crocodiles, bears, peacocks, rabbits, pythons and snakes. Along with decorators and cooks for organizing picnics, Jess Garden Park has 25 picnic tents, 10 roundhouses for relaxation, round-the-clock security and car parking facilities. Besides, there are special rest houses in the park for VIPs.

Jess Garden Park is open to visitors 7 days a week from 9 am to dusk. The entrance ticket to the park is Tk 40 and the mini zoo ticket is Tk 10. Besides, it takes Tk 10 to Tk 50 per person depending on the ride to ride the different rides in the park.

5000 to 7000 rupees to rent a Banorupa bungalow for a picnic of 50 to 100 people at Jess Garden Park. And for 50-100 people it will take 6000-8000 taka to rent luxury bungalow.

If you want to go to Jess Garden Park, first you have to come to Jessore district city suburb bus stand area. From Upshahar Bus Stand, get down in front of Bahadurpur High School and reach Jess Garden after a five minute walk. Easy bike will cost 10 to 15 taka. And if you want to reserve an easy bike, it will cost 40 to 50 taka.

Dhaka to Jessore by Bus : Several AC/Non-AC buses of Sohag, Hanif, SP Golden Line, MR Enterprises, Desh Travels, AK Travels, Green Line, Shyamoli and Eagle Transport operate from Kalyanpur, Gabtali and Kalabagan in Dhaka. Non-AC bus fare to Jessore is Tk 550-750 and AC bus fare is Tk 750-1300.

Dhaka to Jessore by Train : Intercity Sundarban Express train departs from Dhaka's Kamalapur Railway Station at 8:15 AM on 6 days of the week except Wednesdays to Jessore and another intercity train named Chitra Express departs to Jessore on 6 days of the week except Sundays at 7:30 PM and Benapole. Express departs for Jessore at 11:45 PM on 6 days of the week except Wednesday. Class wise train ticket price is Tk 560-1,927.

Besides, Bangladesh Biman, US-Bangla Airlines and NovoAir regularly operate Dhaka-Jesore route from domestic terminal of Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport.

Hotel City Plaza International, Hotel Hasan International, Jabir International Hotel, Hotel RS International, Hotel Shams International etc. are some of the best hotels in Jessore. Besides, there are several government rest houses and several hotels of fair quality in Jessore for overnight stay.

Jessore really shouldn't miss the famous jamatla sweets, date molasses para sandesh and viza pitha. Besides, you can eat kebabs, fries, chap or luchi from 'Johnny Kebab' at Char Khambar Mor. Plus there's no point in depriving yourself of the taste of Dharmatala's Malai Cha and Chuk Nagar's famous Chui Jhal!
