Harinmari Shiv Temple Thakurgaon

About 400 years old Harinmari Shiv Temple is located on Harinmari Hat, 10 km away from Baliadangi Upazila of Thakurgaon district. This temple is 14 x 14 feet in square shape with a height of thirty feet. The south side of the Harinmari Shiva temple, built in Charchala style, has portraits of various idols with foliage designs on terracotta plaques. And there is a big pond on the east side of the temple. Due to lack of proper maintenance and care, the roof and other parts of the Harinmari Shiva temple are on the verge of destruction today.

Karnaphuli Paribahan, Hanif Enterprise, Nabil Paribahan, Bablu Enterprise and Kaya Paribahan etc. can go from Dhaka to Thakurgaon by bus. AC/Non-AC buses will cost Tk 800-1800. If you want to go by train, you can come to Thakurgaon by Panchagarh Express, Ekta and Hirtyan Express trains from Dhaka's Kamalapur. Train ticket fares range from Tk 650 to Tk 2,237 per person depending on the class. Distance from Thakurgaon to Baliadangi Upazila is about 25 km. You can go to Thakurgaon by road from Dhaka by bus like Karnaphuli, Hanif, Nabil, Kaya or Bablu. Besides, Thakurgaon can be reached by various trains running on Dhaka-Lalmonirhat and Thakurgaon routes. There are local buses from Thakurgaon to Baliadangi. On reaching Baliadangi Upazila, you can ride an easybike/van to visit the Harinmari Shiva temple.
