Introduction to Guthia Mosque

Guthia Mosque ( Guthia Mosque ) is one of the largest Jame Masjid in Asia, which is located in Changuria village of Guthia Union of Uzirpur police station in Barisal division. This huge mosque is built on 14 acres of land 11 km away from Barisal city. It is known as Gutia Mosque but its name is Baitul Aman. On December 16, 2003, S. of Guthia Union. Sarfuddin Ahmed Santu Guthia started the construction of Baitul Aman Jame Mosque and Eidgah complex. In 2006, the construction of Gutia Mosque and Eidgah complex was completed.
The Gutia Masjid complex includes a mosque, beautiful minarets, Eidgah grounds with a capacity of 20,000 people, a post office bungalow, orphanage, car parking, pond, lake and flower garden. About 1500 Muslims can pray in the mosque simultaneously and the height of the minaret of the mosque is about 193 feet. The construction cost of the mosque is around 21 crore rupees and the architectural style of the mosque reflects the famous mosques of Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The mosque uses high-quality glass, frames, and Bose speakers. 30 employees are always engaged in the supervision of Gutia Masjid. In this mosque, arrangements have been made for women to pray separately.
Thousands of pilgrims come every day to see and pray at this unique Gutia mosque. The mosque complex also houses Kaaba Sharif, Zamzam Well, Maidan of Arafat, Jabale Rahmat, Jabale Nir, Prophet's Birthplace, Mother Hawa's Tomb, Caliphate's Graveyard, other famous mosques and famous places, which can be visited by the visitors.

how to go

To see the mosque, first you have to come to the divisional city of Barisal. You can go to Gutia Mosque at a distance of 11 km from Barisal by CNG or auto rickshaw.

Dhaka to Barisal by launch

Among the launches operating on the Dhaka Barisal route are; MV Manami, Kuakata 2, Kirtankhola 10, Adventure 1, Adventure 9, Sundarban 9, Sundarban 10, Surbhi 7, Surbhi 8, Parabat 9, Parabat 11, Green Line and some other launches ply Dhaka-Barisal route. Most of the launches from Dhaka's Sadarghat leave for Barisal between 8pm and 9pm. And if you want to go in the morning, you can go to the Greenline launch. The launches that leave at night reach Barisal around 5 am. The deck rent of these launches is Tk 200-250, single cabin rent is Tk 1000-1400, double cabin rent is Tk 2000-2500 and VIP cabin rent is Tk 4500-8000.

Dhaka to Barisal by bus

It takes about 3 to 4 hours to go from Dhaka to Barisal by road. From Gabtali Bus Terminal in Dhaka, regular buses travel from 6 am to 10 pm via Padma Bridge on the way to Barisal. Buses leaving from Dhaka stop at Natullabad bus stand in Barisal city.
Hanif Paribahan, Labiba Enterprise, Imperial Classic, Ena Transport, Digant Paribahan, Sohag Paribahan, Eagle Paribahan, Shakura Paribahan are some of the buses plying on Dhaka to Barisal route. AC and non-AC bus fare to Barisal is Tk 500 to 1200. Several local buses ply on this route so it is best to avoid these buses to save time. These buses cost 250 to 300 taka to go to Barisal.

There are several good quality residential hotels in Barisal, where you can easily spend the night. Among the residential hotels, Hotel Grand Plaza, Richmart Rest House, Hotel Rodella, Hotel Athena are notable.

Gutier sandesh is famous, if you like sweets you must try it. Besides, local restaurants offer local and desi food. Barisal City's Salka Sandhya Hotel's Luchi Sabzi and Sarmalai are popular. Various items of food are available in domestic hotels.
