Girish Chandra Sens House

Zamindar Girish Chandra Sen's House is located on the banks of Madhumati River in Bhatiapara of Gopalganj district. It is not known exactly in which year the zamindar Girish Chandra Sen built this house. A striking English U-shaped manor house with a two-storied building in the middle and single-storied buildings on either side. There are two rooms and two balconies in the two-story part. There was a temple on the left side of the zamindar house surrounded by walls on three sides and a Kachari house made of stone on the right side. A three-room single-storey building at the rear of the main building was used as a kitchen. In front of the zamindar's house, surrounded by many trees, is a pond, which was dug by the zamindar Girish Chandra Sen for the local people. Currently, Kashiani is living in the landlord's house of Girish Chandra Sen, former principal of M.A. Khalek Degree College.

Palash, Imad, Tungipara Express, Golden Line, Greenline, Comfort, Rajdhani and BRTC buses ply on Dhaka-Gopalganj route from Gabtali or Sayedabad bus terminal in Dhaka. These AC/Non-AC buses will cost Tk 500-900 depending on the class. Gopalganj police line or go to Ghonapara by battery operated autovan, nasimon or bus to Bhatiapara and from there you can go to zamindar Girish Chandra Sen's house which is 1 km away.

Again from Dhaka you can take a direct bus to Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj district and take CNG to Girish Chandra Sen's zamindar house.

Among the residential hotels located in Gopalganj city, Madhumati, Hotel Rana, Palash Guest House, Hotel Shimul, Hotel Sohag, Hotel Rifat and Hotel Jimmy etc. are notable.

In Kashiani Upazila or Bhatiapara there is provision to eat normal Bengali food. And Gopalganj city has different quality Bengali, Chinese food restaurants and fast food shops. Food at Lake View Cafe, Bhooter Bari, Barbecue Tonight and FNF Restaurant along Bangabandhu Road in Gopalganj district town is very popular locally.
