Bodeshshori Mondir Panchagarh

Karukarya Mondit ancient Bodeshshori Mahapeeth temple (Bodeshshori Mondir) is located on the banks of Karukarya Mondit river in Barashashi union of Boda upazila of Panchagarh district. Boda Upazila has been named Boda after the temple established over 2.78 acres of land. About four hundred years old, the Badeswari Mahapeeth temple houses the left ankle of Sati, daughter of King Daksha and wife of Bholanath Shiva. Hence Baradeshwari temple is of special importance to Sanatan religious people.

According to the Skandha Purana, when Shiva began to dance with Sati's corpse on his shoulders, Vishnu became Nirupaya and dismembered Sati's body with his chakra. Sati's corpse is divided into 51 parts. Among the 51 bodies, 1 in Sitakunda in Chittagong, Bangladesh and 1 in Badeshwari in Panchagarh. The Vadeswari Mahapeeth temple is built around the fragmented part of Mahamaya. Currently the temple is a protected archeology under the Directorate of Archeology of Bangladesh.

Nabil Paribahan, Hanif Enterprise, Tanjila Travel, Barkat Travel can go to Panchagarh from Dhaka's Shyamoli, Gabtali Bus Terminal and Mirpur. Non AC bus fare from Dhaka to Panchagarh is Tk 1000-1100 and AC bus fare is Tk 1300-1900.

If you want to go by train, you can come to Panchagarh from Kamalapur in Dhaka by Panchagarh Express, Ekta and Hirtyan Express trains. According to the class, the train ticket fare ranges from Tk 695 to Tk 2398 per person.

If you go by bus, you can go down to Boda Upazila. From there one can reach Badeswari Mahapeeth temple. And from Panchagarh you can reach Badeshwari Mahapeeth temple by CNG or auto rickshaw through Boda upazila.
