Balikhola Kishoreganj

Kishoreganj by train from Dhaka : First you have to come to Kishoreganj district headquarters. You can come to Kishoreganj by bus or train from Dhaka. It will be convenient to take the train at eleven o'clock in the morning. 135-368 according to the train fare class, takes about 4 hours. It will be convenient if you take a rickshaw from the train station to Ekrampur CNG stand for Tk 15-20.

Dhaka to Kishoreganj by bus : If you want to come by bus, you can come directly to Kishoreganj by Ananya Parivan or Ananya Classic from Mohakhali and if you want to come from Golapbagh (Syedabad) you can come directly to Kishoreganj by Yataat or Ananya Super. Bus fare is Tk 250-350. It will take around 3 and a half hours from Mohakhali and around 4 hours from Golapbagh. From the bus stand, take a local (Tk 15) or reserve easy bike (Tk 120) to Ekrampur CNG stand.

Kishoreganj to Balikhola : The distance of this Balikhola from Kishoreganj city is about 19 km. You can go to Balikhola in 1 hour by reserving CNG from Ekrampur CNG stand in Kishoreganj city. The rent will be 250-300 taka. You can also go by easybike, in which case it will take a little more time. Besides, if you want to go by local way, get on any CNG train from Ekrampur to Chamta Bandar and get off at Niamatpur Bazar. From there you can go to Balikhola road by easy bike at a distance of 1 km. The whole road is about 3 km. Balikhola market at the end of the road. You can go there by boat.

It is actually possible to visit in one day from Dhaka or its surroundings. But for this you have to leave early in the morning. If you come from Dhaka by morning train or in the morning from Mohakhali by unique transport bus, it will be convenient if you leave before 7 am. Then you can reach Kishoreganj within 10-11 hours. However, you have to return by bus anyway. The last bus from Kishoreganj to Dhaka is at 6:50 pm. So you have to pay attention to the time. Also there is another option, 3 KM away from Balikhola go to Khadya/Chamta Port (also worth visiting). Chamta port has direct bus to Dhaka. But the service of these buses is quite bad. If there is shortage of time to come to Kishoreganj city then you can use this option.

Explore according to what time you have. Boats are available at the end of the Balikhola road to take you to Howrah. Depending on the size of the boat, you can go around at 300-500 taka per hour. If you want, you can visit His Excellency President Abdul Hamid's house. Then there will be a trip to Haor and a visit to Mithamin. It will take about 3 hours to go to Mithamin by boat from Balikhola Bazar. And if you have time, visit Lake City Park, Pagla Mosque, Sholakia Eidgah Ground in Kishoreganj city.

There is no food service in Balikhola. There are a few tong shops. You can have light breakfast there. For heavy meals, it is better to eat in Kishoreganj city or to eat in Karimganj market on the way. If you go to Chamta/Chamra port, there are hotels of good quality.

If you need to stay for the night then there is a good quality residential hotel in Kishoreganj city where you can spend 800-1200 Tk.

Monsoon is the best time to visit any Hawar area. So if you want to enjoy the beauty of this road and the form of haor, travel in monsoons. Usually July-August is the best time.

Be careful on your trip, don't go into the water if you don't know how to swim. It is best to have a life jacket with you. And if you want to travel in one day, you have to pay attention to the time.
