Introduction to Baldha Garden Dhaka

Baldha Garden is a botanical garden. Located in Wari, Old Dhaka, Baldha Garden has an area of ​​3.38 acres. In 1909 Narendra Narayan Roy Chowdhury, the zamindar of Baldha in Dhaka district, started decorating Baldha Garden by bringing flowers and rare plants from different countries. The present Gazipur district was then known as Baldha. Baldha Garden has a Shapla House full of colorful Shaplas. There are also rare species of indigenous and foreign cactus, anthurium, orchid, bacula, camellia, Bhujjapatra, Ashoka, Amazon lily, African tulips and other species of trees.
Baldha Gardens currently has around 18,000 plants of 800 species. The very charming Baldha Garden once became a center of cultural activities. Baldha Garden is arranged in two parts named Saiki and Sibley. The word Psyche means soul and the word Sibley means goddess of nature.
Psyche part is decorated with Shapla house, cactus, anthurium, orchid, bacula, amazon lily, bhuj leaf tree. Another shadowy room is placed here, this room contains a tunnel.
The Sibley section features Sundials, Conch River, Joy House, Ponds, African Tulips, Ashoka and Gorgeous Camellias. The world poet Rabindranath Tagore wrote the famous poem Camellia while sitting in Joy House, fascinated by the beauty of camellias in Baldha Garden.

Entrance fee

To enter Baldha Garden, you have to pay 10 rupees. Minor boys and girls can enter here for Rs.4. Students and researchers have to pay 5 rupees to enter here.

While visiting Baldha Gardens

Baldha Gardens are open for visits seven days a week from 8 am to 5 pm. Baldha Garden is closed for lunch break from 12 noon to 2 am every day.

How to get to Baldha Garden

From anywhere in Dhaka, take a bus bound for Jatrabari and get off in front of Rajdhani Super Market and walk for five minutes along Hatkhola Road. You will see Baldha Garden. Besides, you can go directly to Baldha Garden by rickshaw fare of Tk 30 to Tk 40 from Gulisthan by bus.

Old Dhaka has a special tradition for food. You can undoubtedly choose food items from Al Razzaq, Hajir Biryani, Kashmir Kachchi, Beauty Boarding or Sultan's Chai.
