Abdus Salam Memorial Museum

Bhasha Shahid Abdus Salam was born on 27 November 1925 in Laxmanpur village of Feni district. The current name of Laxmanpur village is Salam Nagar after him. Due to his father's job, Shaheed Abdus Salam lived in the quarters next to Dhaka Medical College during the language movement. On February 21, 1952, the students took part in the protest by ignoring Article 144 on the road in front of the Dhaka Medical College Hostel. Abdus Salam was shot by the police during the protest and died on April 07, 1952 after about a month and a half while undergoing treatment.

In February 2000, language martyr Abdus Salam was posthumously awarded the Ekushey Padak. Language Martyr Abdus Salam Memorial Museum was established in Salam Nagar adjacent to Matubhuana Bridge on the Feni-Noakhali road to honor the memory of Language Martyr Abdus Salam. A book fair is organized in the museum premises every year in February.
