Shamser Gazir Bansher Kella Resort (Shamser Gazir Bansher Kella Resort) has been built by combining various elements of the folk culture of village Bengal near the Indian border in Chagalnaiya Upazila of Feni district. Shamser Gazi Ekadhar, known as the Tiger of Bhanti during the reign of Nawab Sirajdaulla, was a king of Tripura state, an anti-British revolutionary and the hero of the peasant revolt in Roshanabad Pargana of Tripura. His successors built this resort in an artistic arrangement on an area of about 5 acres, centered on the memorial of Shamser Gazi at Sonapur.
Gazi's Gazi Bamboo Fort Resort is built on the model of Thailand and Japan's rest houses in the middle of a beautiful natural environment. In addition to the use of bamboo in the interior and exterior architecture of the resort, there are also various bamboo furniture and artworks. Upon entering the resort, one notices a beautiful sculpture named Eiktan. And in the courtyard of the resort there are rows of high bamboos and there is a bamboo Machang house built in the pattern of the traditional hill houses of Khagrachari for organizing literary gatherings or any open events.
Shamser Gazi Bamboo Fort Resort has restaurant, reading room, guest room, tea corner, besides lawn, fountain, scenic lake and beautiful bridge. And there are boat arrangements for traveling in the water of the lake. The founder Shamser Gazi's two mud houses are intact next to the resort. There are retail shops and tea and coffee stalls for guests to indulge in a bit of shopping. Various meeting-seminars, weddings, banquets and bar-b-ques are available here with advance booking.
