Introduction to Sat Shohider Mazar

Phulbari is a quiet village on the Indo-Bangladesh border of Lengura union of Kamalakanda upazila of Netrakona district . The Ganeshwari River, which flows through the Garo Hills from the Indian state of Meghalaya, flows through the village. Within our borders are several hills and hills, and beyond the border lies the hill state of Meghalaya as far as the eye can see. 7 freedom fighters are buried in that secluded place surrounded by countless mahogany trees. This place is known as Seven Martyrs Shrine.

On July 26, the news that supplies would go from Birishiri in Netrakona district to the Pak army camp at Kalmakanda, it was planned to attack the Pak invaders near Nazirpur market on the Durgapur-Kalmakanda river route. According to the plan, the freedom fighters ambushed all the entrances of Nazirpur market. Long after the time that was supposed to arrive had passed, the freedom fighters one by one removed their ambush when they suddenly faced the invading forces. Shots, counter-shots started a fierce battle on both sides. But the freedom fighters were largely unprepared for the ambush. Pak invaders gradually entered the area of ​​freedom fighters. Still, the freedom fighters continued to fight. Morning turned to afternoon, the battle continued. In the afternoon, the attack of Pak army became more intense. Meanwhile, when the commander of the freedom fighters was injured, the momentum of the war changed. Pak invaders captured some freedom fighters in armed condition and killed them by bayonet charge. Jamal Uddin, Dr. was martyred in that war. Abdul Aziz, Fazlul Haque, Yar Mamud, Bhavatosh Chandra Das, Nuruzzaman, Dwijendra Chandra Biswas. They were buried and cremated on the evening of July 27 at Phulbari in Lengura on the India-Bangladesh border.

You can come from Dhaka to Netrakona district town and from there take a motorcycle reserve or by any other means pass through Kamalakanda upazila and cross Lengura Bazar and then you can go to Seven Martyrs' Shrine. The distance from Netrakona headquarters is about 54 km. Many people go on a trip to Birishiri in Netrakona, in that case one can visit Birishiri and go to Lengura from there. The distance from Birishiri is about 18 km. Or there is a direct night coach bus from Dhaka's Mohakhali to Kamalakanda. From Kalmakanda, one can go to the shrine via Lengura by reserving a motorcycle.

Lengura place is quite beautiful. The indigenous Garo Hajong community lives here. You can explore the entire area. There are several hills along the Ganeshwari river, one can explore there. It will be nice to see the mountain range of Meghalaya from the top of the hill. Besides, there is a wooden bridge over the Ganeswari near this Lengura market, which looks quite beautiful.
