Sat Gambuj Mosque Dhaka

Sat Gambuj Mosque located in Mohammadpur of the capital Dhaka is a historical archeological monument built during the Mughal regime. The mosque is easily known as the Seven Domed Mosque due to the total of seven domes with 3 large domes on the roof of the mosque and 4 minarets on the four corners. Mughal Subadar Shaista Khan's son Umid Khan built this seven-domed mosque in 1680. Lalbagh Durg Mosque and Khawaja Ambar Mosque have many similarities with Seven Dome Mosque.

The outer length of the namaz kotha of the rectangular seven-domed mosque is 17.68 meters and the width is 8.23 ​​meters. The mosque looks more attractive because of the three mihrabs on the western wall and the three vaulted arches on the eastern side. There is a mausoleum to the east of the seven-domed mosque. The mausoleum, which is octagonal on the inside and quadrangular on the outside, is considered by many to be Shaista Khan's daughter's mausoleum. The tomb known as Bibi's shrine was once abandoned but has now been renovated.

Besides, there is a garden and Jamia Rahmaniya Arabia Madrasa near the mosque. Once upon a time the river Buriganga flowed by the side of the seven-domed mosque, but now several small and big buildings have been built around it.

Come to Mohammadpur bus stand from anywhere in Dhaka city. If you go a little further along the Shia Mosque road from Mohammadpur Bastand, you will see the seven-domed seven-domed mosque of red color on the left side.
