Nobo Shalbon Bihar Comilla

Nobo Shalbon Bihar of Kotbari area is a new addition to the historical structure of Comilla district rich in ancient civilization . New Shalbon Vihar and Bangladesh Buddhist Cultural Academy was established on September 8, 1995 on an area of ​​about two and a half acres. This artistic Buddhist temple is known as one of the Shanti Viharas of Southeast Asian Buddhists. In 2014, a 30-feet-high Buddhist statue weighing about 6 tons made of metal was installed in Bihar as a gift from the Buddhist religious foundation of Thailand.

On entering Nava Shalban Vihar, the first thing one sees is the huge golden Buddhist statue. During the day, this idol is visible from a distance, shining in the sunlight. To go to Nav Shalban Vihar, you have to come to Comilla city first. You can go to Comilla from Dhaka by train or bus. Comilla can be reached by train from Dhaka to Comilla by train like Mahanagar Godhuli, Akashto Express, Paharika Express and Turna. Fare per person from Dhaka to Comilla is Tk 170-702.

By road you can go from Dhaka to Comilla by non AC or AC buses like Royal Coach, Asia Aircon, Prince, Asia Line, Trisha. Or you can go to Comilla by taking any bus going to Chittagong or Feni. Bus fare will be 250 to 400 taka. Get down from the bus at Kotbari bus stand in Comilla and take a CNG or rickshaw from the bus stand to Nab Shalban Vihar.
